This 25cl 2010 vintage is courtesy of Ratebeer's very own stobbe74, thanks Soeren. It pours out a nice looking mahogany with brown ruby egdes and tan head. The aroma is boozy, cherries, prunes and more booze. The taste however starts somewhat neutral and then fills in with booze and some dark fruity esters. Toward midway and then into the finish I get additional notes of black tea like earthiness and dry roasted malts that both conspire to create a fairly dry finish. This is an interesting barleywine with roasted malts and earthiness being a different take on the style. (576 characters)

This came in a mini-bottle, I think probably 8 oz, but at 11% I would have liked to have somebody to share it with actually.

Appearance - dark brown, pepsi colored, very small amount of tan head that goes away quickly

Smell is brown sugar, smells sweet and boozy, smells alot like a belgian quad actually, the smell is just awesome on this one.

Taste is more bitter than sweet, some dark fruits, some apples, some coffee, some rum, quite alot of booze, very complex, almost no carbonation

Even with low carbonation the mouthfeel was good, the taste lingers for quite a while.

Definitely not a sessionable ale for sure, but a great beer to split with friends! (663 characters)
