Bomber to a pint glass, no freshness date

Pours a pale yellow gold with three fingers of foam with moderate carbonation. Good retention unfortunately, guessing the lacing should be pretty good also. Poor color and carbonation

Smells of herbal and floral hops, minty lavender, light bready malts, and a little bit of alcohol. Unique for an ipa, not sure if in a good way. Sort of reminds me of stone 17 anni and green bullet, actually really interested in the hops they used

Taste is with the nose, same herbal and floral hop profile. Minty lavender still, same with the malt profile and alcohol. Really on right with the nose

A bit of a lighter moderate body, bitterness is a bit mild, still drinkable none the less

Overall, an interesting and unique beer. Nothing too special though

Clear amber colored ale with a tall white colored head.

Smells sweet with a woody hop smell. Scents of pine and pineapple and menthol.

Starts out sweet with a woody after taste. This has a garlic and onion taste to it. Tastes of wood and strong tea.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall it tastes like onions and garlic, might not finish the bottle.

22 oz bottle. No bottling dates.

Golden, hazy body. Thick foam cover, bone-white in color. Settles slowly, leaving nice lacing. Looks nice.

Strong hop aromas of pitch, pine and grapefruit. Biscuit malts are there, but the hops dominate.

Dry and crackery malts, with some caramel sweetness. Lots of hop flavors, mostly of mint, pine, resin and grapefruit. Big alcohol bite on the finish, leaves a slightly medicinal taste. Very warming and dry.

Pretty nice hop flavors here that will satisfy any hop head. My only real complaint is the big, boozy bite on the finish. This sucker is strong, and it doesn't try to hide it. This is a little unbalanced, though I could forgive it if the finish was a little smoother. Not a bad DIPA, but better choices are out there.

Why isn't this beer under Firehouse with all the other Palo Alto beers?

Woody hop tones on this. Oddly tangy. Seems a bit chalky as well. Doesn't really seem to work all that well. Drinkable, yes, but it's not all that interesting. Can live without it.

A - Pours a hazy golden-orange with a finger of frothy off-white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of citrus, grapefruit, and pine hops with some sweet caramel and biscuit malts and a touch of booze.

T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, tropical, orange, and citrus hops with some bitterness and sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some pine and grassy hops come through with some more resiny bitterness and some biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit and pine hops, bitterness, and sweet caramel and biscuit malts with a hint of booze.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.

D - Very drinkable. Good strong hop profile with nice bitterness throughout.

A: Translucent golden with a foamy white head.

S: So much orange and mango in the nose, maybe some tropical fruits.

T: Orange, citrus peel, grassy notes, pine, lemon. Not what I had hoped for after the nose.

M: Medium bodied and smoother than your average IPA which is nice.

O: The taste is a bit disappointing, but it's still a really good IPA. It just smells better than it tastes. That said, I would recommend it. It was given to me be the owner of a bottle shop, because he couldn't sell it. His shop was overpriced, but he had things you won't find anywhere else nearby. The fact that he couldn't sell it, to me, seems to weigh in favor of it's low score on BA, but I think it's way underrated.

Pours golden and clear. Filtered. Big, sticky, white head. Lots of lacing, although I'm not sure a half inch deep pillow of foam counts as lacing.

The beer has an aggressively hoppy aroma with the barest touch of sweet malt. It's all sweet citrus, pine needles, earth, a bit of minerals and honeysuckle. Though not as good, Atlas is in the same vein as Pliny the Elder with a little less grapefruit rind and a little more vegetal hop aroma. The malt sits quietly in the background, providing just a mild caramel note that keeps the hops sweet and approachable.

The beer starts out lightly hoppy and picks up from there. Some light crystal malt is apparent at first, but it gets buried by citrus rind and pine resin hoppiness. However, the beer finishes before the hops get out of hand. There's still just enough malt to the beer to keep it from being a palate stripper. The aftertaste is all grapefruit pith. I'll take a second to complain about the lack of bottle-dating because this beer is going to go downhill with each passing day.

Mouthfeel is smooth with a hint of stickiness. Carbonation is normal, perhaps on the gentle side of normal. There's a tiny bit of booze, but it's mostly covered by the hops. The beer coats the mouth with hop flavor. It's good stuff but not great.
