I stayed in Carmel. This is a little outside the area. It had the best selection I have seen all week. The service was good, but the bottle prices were a little high. The had brews from The Bruery, Lost Abbey, and Oskar Blues. I did pay $29 for a 12oz Lost Abbey Cuvée de Tomme. It wasn't worth $29, but it was tasty.

Despite its name, this is apparently only a pub serving others' beer and not actually a brewery/brewpub with its own beers. They had no beer of their own on tap, but the server was not clear if they ever brewed any of their own.

That said, it's pretty good, although more of a general eating place for families or for loud groups wanting a party time, rather than a serious beer mecca. I

It has a large selection of beers, including some good ones and harder-to-find local ones. Food was good, but nothing special. Salads were nice but dressing was a bit sharp and vinegary.

It's pretty family friendly with good kids' menu.
Decor is pretty nice and interesting with brick walls, good an pleasant seating areas, not cramped or cavernous, and neat railings of beer bottles.

Awesome location in an awesome building. Something like 75 beers on tap. Server was knowledgeable and very nice, allowing you to sample a couple for free. I was giddy with excitement but my spirit was quickly crushed when I ordered an Allagash White that was horribly skunked when I got it. Too bad, that is one of my favorite beers. The server was kind enough to replace it with something else for free, but the damage was already done to my psyche. The food was mediocre like you'd expect in a tourist place on Cannery Row. Average prices.

A brewery? Well, I can add a few new ticks under my belt....oh, they actually don't brew? Well, that dampens my chances. But there's 75 taps....ok, I'm going in....

The location of Cannery Row brewing is great. It's just a few easy blocks from the waterfront of Monterey, and as a bonus, there's ample parking nearby (you'll need to pay though). The interior is dark, large, and is held by high ceilings. Several different televisions are at the bar help make the time pass by when you're alone (like I was). Well, either that or the 75 taps which are available. Many American beers were pouring, sprinkled with a few imported varieties; Allagash, Abita, Lucifer, Mardesous, Erdinger, Bear Republic, Stone, Firestone, Deschutes. In addition, there are 30 varieties of bottles.

Service; good. Beer breat with garlic fries; good. Prices per pour; not so good. Food prices were alright, but beer is where it gets expensive. There are many $6.50 pours, even on something like Blue Moon. I did see Anderson Valley and 21st Amendment at $5.75 per pint. At least you can order a half-pint of something, only then to see it poured into a rocks glass.

Cannery Row brewing has a few small setbacks, though it isn't enough to setback any future visits.
