S: Reminiscent of champagne, as expected. Pear, white grape, a touch of apple bread. Bright, zesty tartness is full, but soft. Shows a hint of mild funkiness, but its gentle and adds a mysterious complexity. Very nice.
T: Bubbly tartness pops into the mouth at first, almost blocking the ability to taste. The feel is not unpleasant, however, and reminiscent of champagne. Flavors are bright, sour patch kids tangy with lemon-lime citrus notes at first. Very crisp. In the middle there is a nice flavor modulation with more apple-pear notes coming through with a much smoother lactic acidity. Faint hints of wheat bread. Slightly dry throughout. The finish has an especially pleasant, supple dryness with just a kiss of herbal noble hop flavor coming through alongside a squeeze of lemon. Ghosts of the prickly carbonation linger.
Notes: Highly quaffable with dynamic flavors and a pleasant, complex acidity. Balanced and well put together. Makes me wish more Berliners were made these days.

Tasted 28 July 2014.
Pours a medium clear golden yellow. Two fingers of white fizzy head, okay retention and lacing.
Smell is delicate and delightful. Bright and clean, with just the right touch of lemony tartness. Soft, but stellar.
Taste is also quite good. Again, it's got the two elements I want from a berliner - clean, and light tart. I could use just a bit more of that tartness, as the wheat becomes sweet and starts to detract from the refreshment. Better cold, faded as it warmed.
Feel is good. Light-bodied, fizzy carbonation. Spot-on.
This beer reminds me why I love this style. It's the perfect thing to drink on a summer afternoon. Clean and crisp, with just a hint of lemon and acidity to take the edge off. Very nice.
