Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a tulip-shaped Duvel glass.
A: Pours a bright, golden straw color with a one finger head of heavily carbonated foam that dissipates pretty quickly. Looks light and refreshing. Cloudiness forms when the contents at the bottle's bottom enter the glass.
S: Hefeweizen qualities: wheat, banana, light cloven-lemon with a shred of wheat. Ho hop to speak of, merely sweet, light malts and some ethyl alcohol.
T: Sweet, cold, lemony and tart. Has lambic like qualities with a tart lemon finish. The aftertaste leaves some other light fruits in my nose, an a sweet, sugary tartness on my molars. Like a well-crafted malternative sans gut-rot.
M: Mouthfeel is thin, crisp, sharp and acidic. Like swishing around a sparkling pinot grigio.
D: It's a really refreshing brew, and the low ABV would ensure you could handle a lot of it. However, I feel this is one to pop the cap on one, split it with a friend, and move on. The tart build-up in my throat would get to me after a while.
A great representation of the style and a refreshing beer overall. A little too tart for the fall season, but it's my fault for opening it now anyway. Save it for late spring/summer, and it'll be money.

500ml bottle into a goblet.
A: Pours a hazy straw color. There's about one finger worth of white-colored head. Because the actual body looks fizzy, retention is poor. The soapiness of the head's texture also means that no lacing is left on the glass.
S: Like the style would suggest, there's a healthy lacto presence, expressing itself as funky, stank-ass cheese. Acidic notes are actually fairly prevalent. It's pretty simple, but a bit more balanced than most.
T: Tartness hits the palate first, but only very briefly. Wheat notes end up being the dominant flavor, especially around the mid-taste. If there's any flaw, it's that the finish seems a bit empty. I don't really care, though, because this is the first example of the style I'd call "good".
M: This has the kind of feel that works perfectly in hot weather: light-bodied, dry, fizzy, with a hint of lingering tartness. Really fizzy, in fact - the carbonation is almost brutal at times. Still goes down easily.
O: Out of the Berliner Weissbiers I've rated, not a single one has scored higher than a 3 from me. This, though, is actually quite solid. Beers like these are exactly why I never give up on a style I dislike. This would also make a great introduction to those who've never had the style before.
