Pours an incredibly clear and vigorously carbonated yellow color with a fizzy rumply white head that just won't go away and leaves "ok" lacing.

Nose is mild wheat, slight tartness, and some lemon citrus zest. Slight pepper as well.

Wow. Some mighty tasty stuff. I was expecting a little bit more aggressive tartness, but this is quite nice. Nice almost Kristalweizen like wheat profile, a bit softer, not as much wheat yeast flavor, for obvious reasons. A beautifully dry slight tartness really helps the slight citrus zest flavor along. Some green apple like esters in here as well. Good stuff.

Mouthfeel is right where it should be. A nice brisk carbonation, beautifully crisp and dry finish.

Drinkability is the best ive had in a berliner weiss. Could easily pound multiples of these badboys on a hot day grillin on the back deck.

Overall a superb berliner. A tiny touch more tartness would be nice, but the subtelty of it makes it ideal for a refreshing treat. Yet another classic from one of my favorite breweries, and the authority on german styles. Great stuff.

Pours the color of light straw and with exceptional clarity. Continually effervescing and capturing and light. It had a thick white head of loose soapy foam that fell off very quickly to a scant film and thin ring. No lace. The nose was light. Sweet lemon peel and then a little tart citrus. Tiny bit of spice. Floral and with a light wheat dryness on the nose and a hint of cracker. There is a sweet honey like quality underneath that is perfectly poised with the sweeter aspect of the lemon but it's bashful and never comes out from behind the fruit. It has a good musty yeast smell that is not too strong or off putting. It also has a fresh earthy quality like wet hay that is dewey and damp. Taste is as clean and clear as the body of the beer. Light sweet lemon peel greets the palate followed by the tart citrus. This was not at all sour. The cracker malt and wheat are dry and carry a little faint spice and musty barnyard to the back palate where it fades without much aftertaste but leaves a dry and cleansed palate. Body of the beer is well carbonated and light.

This was not terribly complex. It had exceptional balance and poise. Well turned out and sparkling . Vivacious and enlivening. A terrific beer with a low abv that is the perfect thirst quencher for a hot day. Would compliment almost any food.

Quick notes from Tigris Beverage/g.housen Tasting earlier today. 500mL brown glass pry-top bottle.

Super pale yellow with thin white head that falls quickly. Nose is huge compared to the appearance: white smoke, rocks and gravel, and some barnyard funk. Palate is crisp and dominated by pear notes (like peary). Tart and earthy. Not a lot of wheat character. Very clear and clean finish.

Appears a pale yellow with a large white head that falls quicklyy leaving little lacing. Active carbonation.

Smells lemony tart and yeasty.

Tastes is similar to smell, tart lemons, yeasty bread though neither is overpowering.

Mouthfeel is dry, carbonated and thin bodied.

Drinkability is excellent.

Easy and nice drinking beer is you enjoy this style, guess I do.

A very tasty beer that I wish was less expensive so I could have it more often this summer. It's not complex but does fit to style quite well.

Reviewed from notes. Poured into a tulip. Pours a very light straw color with lots of visible carbonation and a gorgeous three finger fluffy and creamy looking white head that settles down to about half and retains nicely through out the beverage. The aroma is kind of funky and yeasty with a slight lemon edge to it. The taste is very light. It's nice and crisp with a biscuity flavor with an tart lemon apple finish to it. I think the carbonation is a but much on this. It kind of explodes in the mouth and the carbonation is a bit on the sharp side. I do however really like the nice light body. This is near perfect. By biggest qualm with this is the carbonation, otherwise, this is a great example of the style.

16.9oz bottle

Found this odd brew @ Shawn Liquors. No real brewery listed, only "brewed by Dr. Fritz Breim, Munich, Germany". A Google search found the impoter, B. United Intl's website that loosely indicates that this is a collaboration between Doemens Institue and Weihenstephan.

Pours a hazy pale straw colow with a fluffy white head that thins. Mild lacing on the glass.

Aroma is bready and yeasty with a nice sour twang.

Taste is bready upfront immediatly washed over by a refreshing sourness and yeasty taste. Finishes quite clean with a mild fruitiness.

Light body, solid carbonation.

This was my first experience with this style, and quite a positive one. Delicious flavor and super drinkability. A bit pricey at $5 for 16.9oz, but well worth it for the experience. I hope to find this again, but I suspect that it's quite a rare find.

Pours a peachy-yellow with a pillowy white head that falls off after a short while. Somewhat cloudy, laces brokenly. Smells of lactic sourness, wheat, gooseberries, alcohol. Taste is mostly a thin wheaty flavor up front, with a distinct tartness and growing sour quality. Alcohol present too, which I find surprising and out of character for the style. Ethanol actually distracts from the flavor and reduces the complexity of the sour flavors. Didn't have any syrup to add so I wasn't able to see how it improved the beer, but I feel like even a B.W. should be reviewed based on how it tastes straight. Thin bodied, kind of watery. I've had a few Berliner Weisses and this has been both the least interesting and the least palatable.

as its pouring it almost has a pinkish hue which settles to a pale straw color with a pure white, quickly receding head that leaves little lacing. a nice, steady stream of bubbles continuously flows.

wheaty and fruity with lemon, grass, straw, hay, peach, apple skins.

tart and fruity. not sour, but tart. lemon, peach, and sour apple with wheat and grass. pretty simple, yet complex, oddly. has the grassiness of a pilsner with a nice tartness and light fruitiness that complements that beautifully.

pretty thin bodied, which is perfect for the style, with pretty heavy carbonation. it finishes dry as hell (assuming hell is dry).

drinks very well! by far the best example of the style, though I can count the ones I've tried on one hand still. dry, yet sweet, yet tart, yet herbal, yet simple, yet complex.

What a great beer. I really didn't expect to like this after having hated the Berliner Kindl-Weisse so much, but this one is very different. Just a light tartness and still very refreshing.

The beer pours fairly clear at first, but after mixing in the sediment, it looks like a witbier. Very pale yellow, almost white with all of the light reflecting off the sediment. Has a nice lofty head with great retention and washy sheets of lacing. Unexpectedly very little apparent carbonation.

The smell is awesome. Just a light lactic tartness with a strong citrus twang. Quite lemony with a soft sweet wheat malt aroma and undertones of banana. Even more subtle hints of spice. Almost smells like a malt based lemonade, but in a good way (not like Lienie Summer Shandy, or something like that).

The taste is phenomenally refreshing. Up front, flavors of banana and wheat come in to play, but as it is forced down the palate a light tartness takes over. Great lemon zest flavor. The finish is very dry with no lingering aftertaste. Only a hint of spice, perhaps coriander. Very easy to drink. I may have to try this with a hit of syrup sometime.

The body is quite light and dry. The carbonation is so light it almost can't be felt on the palate. If it weren't for the lactic acid burn, this would seem almost flat. I am going to make this my new summer drinker, though I may have to take it easy at $5 a half liter.
