Very clean, with a little lemon spritzer sourness. Wish it were more sour, but this is very refreshing and ultimately excellent. Very well-made and enjoyable.

Large, pillowy head with a sparkling, effervescent mouthfeel

Professor Fritz Briem 1809 Berliner Weisse. 5% ABV.

A: Two full fingers of head. Dull yellow, with just a hint of orange. White-ish in the dimple. Lacing slides right off.

S: Smells like a standard wheat beer, with some added tartness. Slight hay.

T/MF: Damn! That's a lot of acidity, at first. It starts out really crisp and straight up acidic, but the acid fades quickly. No inherent fruit flavor. Slight kiss of lemon-lime/grapefruit as it fades. Bone dry, immediately afterwards (very interesting, considering the lower ABV). Actually, there is a stone fruit aspect to the tartness. Like a very light colored (white, even) nectarine. Nice, but needs more flavor to it. Added fruit, perhaps. Either way, this does peak my interest for further exploration into Berliner Weisses.

This actually reminds me a lot of a Sierra Mist or Squirt.

Poured from a 16.9 oz. bottle, into a Belgian tulip glass.

A: Lovely bloom develops quickly but then evaporates somewhat quickly. Minimal lacing. Hazy, unfiltered orange-yellow color.

S: Lively, almost floral bouquet from the wheat and yeast with citrus (lemon) notes.

T: Well balanced flavors of lemon and yeasty wheat, with just a bit of tartness.

M: Smooth, slightly carbonated and medium bodied. Very pleasant textures.

O: This is one of the best examples of of this style, although it is much less tart than many others I have tried. Probably a good choice for those new to the style or sour flavored styles in general (like Goses, Lambics, Flemish Reds and Browns, American Wild Ales; etc.).

Purchased at Liquor Shed.

A hazy straw yellow pour with 3 fingers of foam.

It smells earthy, with lemon citrus that imparts both tart and spicy notes.

Lemony, yeasty, peppery, very dry on the palate.

Light body with perhaps too much co2.

This is very nice.
