This place was a good stop on the way from NY to Maine. It was located in a pretty upscale section of town and seemed to maintain that sort of atmosphere. The place was a split level rest/pub done up in wood planks. The bar was located right in the center of the building with tables around the outside and in the upper deck.

This was a quality brewpub with many good offerings to choose from. I stopped in with two of my friends and ended up buying a beer sampler platter to split. There were 12 different beers consisting of most every style. The bartender went through the list and was very friendly. We had a bit of bar food to create a food base for drinking. It was quite good although if I had more time and money I would have liked to try some actual dinner entre's which seemed to be very popular.

We had great service the whole time and actually recieved directions for our next stop. We grabbed a few bombers to go that they were selling from a cold cooler in a nearby room. I rather enjoyed the IPA the best. This is a stop to remember for future roadies.

We have been to the Northampton brewery many times over the years. The newest renovation, and rework is what has compelled a review.

A - The atmosphere is split 3 ways. The bar area, the upstairs dining and the roof deck. The bar is a little congested but not impersonal. The upstairs dining, partially open to the bar below is lined with booths and a few center tables for larger groups. The roof deck is multi level and updated. Misting nozzles take the edge off of the warmest days. The décor and audio are all good, the bar area has several large flat screens.

Q - The food and beer are very good. Rarely is the kitchen "off". The menu is pub fare and now a focus on flatbread makes for a nice addition. The beer is solid, several standard offerings like ESB, and a variety of hop forward IPA's.
S- Service is sustained by many long time staff members who keep the service consistent. The brew team is great, kitchen very solid.
S - The food selection has some depth, specials are supported by use of local seasonal farm products. The beers are mainly house made, up to 10 drafts with some guest taps, there are some limited bottle offerings.
F - The food quality is solid, they have superb salads and now the specials have stepped up some. We enjoy the catfish bites and a pint almost weekly.
V - The value quite good. The beers are $5 a pint with short pours available. The food is well priced. A couple can do well here for under $40.
Highly recommend a visit.

Cheers

This is a great place. One of my favorite places to go. They have great selections of freshly brewed beer and I cant say I have ever had one I didnt like.

Excellent place to bring a date. Its location is in a nice and safe area where you can walk around at night. They have a roof top you can sit at in the warmer months.

The food is pretty good. They are creative and everything is good. American Food and American Beers.

I love how they always try to do something new. They are innovators and they are good at it. Every time I leave I can't wait to go back. There aren't very many places that make me feel this way

I cannot say enough good things about this place.

It's got a great feel, a nice comfy atmosphere.
When the weather is nice, and the patio is open, the rating for atmosphere goes thru the roof!
So many options of where to sit.

The quality of the beer is around average for a brew-pub. They've got there standout beers, but you can also get some really average ones.

The staff has always been really nice.

The reason I give the selection a tough score is because they don't really have much besides their beers. But thats why you should be going there... to get their beers.

The food is great, and the prices are great!

a very cool place in a very cool town, drove down from a conference in Amherst to have dinner here last night. funky little place this Northampton, gov't mule playing near by, place crawling with dead types, lots of funky cafes and eateries, good stuff. this place was a little hard to find, as its tucked back off the main drag and obscured by a parking garage. smallish at first when you walk in, but you notice clever and character rich architecture, little nooks and comfy seating in front of a wrap around bar. upstairs eating and beer garden as well. 8 or 10 beers on, a couple of guest taps. the beer was all good, alpha project single hop cascade ipa was the highlight by far, a cool series they are running. food was also nice, gourmetish white pizza and squash crostini, but wasn't perfect, good effort though, and props for the local farm partnerships. the best part here is the service, my bartender was a real good human being, generous to a weary traveler with samples, remember most people by name, being conversational, interested in beer, and actually bought me my last pint, a total class act. goodluck to you my friend in fatherhood by the way! overall an affordable and enjoyable experience, if you can tolerate the red sox fans...
