Pushing it, the wife and I stopped at Central City at some point during our crazy night of bar-hopping in Kalamazoo. This place is right on downtown, but in a dead area. The restaurant next door was closed and Central City itself was winding down at 11pm.

Very chill, still a good amount of people despite the impending last-call, and nice bartender too.
Of the 18 taps (plus one firkin) at Central City, I ought to highlight Bourbon County! Woohoo…

Also Founders Oatmeal, Barrel Aged Cali Belgique, Founders Sweet Repute, Triple Karmeliet, Hitachino, Piraat, Meantime Barleywine, Destihl, Westbrook… great stuff.

Just for the beer, I would come back here in an instant.

There are actually two locations now. The original Taphouse downtown and the newer location in Portage. I don’t know, something about this place kind of bugs me. Yes, they sometimes have unique beers that you can’t find anywhere else, but I never seem to be all that impressed with their overall selection on any given visit. Their food is high priced and not all that good in my opinion. They are part of the Millennium restaurant group here in Kalamazoo which own a series of high end eateries most of which are a bit overrated for the price. Lots of people love this place though, so maybe it is just me.

Atmosphere: a nice looking place once you find it. Hidden back indside of another restaurant. once your in it has nice comfy tables and lots of wood furnishings, a good amount of tvs.

Quality: We went there for the sweet repute. It looked like they had some other good beers but only stuck around for the one beer. I've also heard of some pretty great taps events here

Service: good and problemless service while i was there

Selection: not the biggest but certainly a great list.

Overal: if your in K-zoo check what they have on tap here, there may be a gem and this place doesn't get super busy so its certainly worth checking out.

When in Kalamazoo Michigan C.C. Tap House is an excellent spot for hard to find Craft beer. Whether you're into Belgians or good American made Crafts they have a great selection on tap and a wide variety of bottles as well. My latest visit I was able to get a Bourbon County on tap and a Bourbon County Coffee Brand in a bottle making a very happy patron! When ever I get a chance I can stop in and always find something great to drink, highly recommend stopping in when you're in Kalamazoo!

CC Tap House was a bit confusing at first but after further review and knowledge gathering, I now understand. It's located inside of a what seemed to be bistro style restaurant, and it appears to be dominating the business. They share a kitchen, but from my understanding that is where it ends.
The Tap House side of the restaurant is about half the size of the bistro, seats about 12-15 at the bar, and seats another 45+ on tables. The beer menu was very nice. The tap list consists of about 25 beers, everything from Rodenbach Classic (that was a first time try for myself) to a Paw Paw sour, Anderson Valley stout, etc. A real good varying selection.
The bottle list had some real nice bottles available as well, and was broken down in an easy to read format.
Brandon the beer manager seemed friendly and knowledgeable. It sounds like he has a good foot hold with the beer community and this place seems like an awesome addition to the Kalamazoo beer scene.
I had the Lamb sliders and they were pretty good. Not great, but not terrible. Prices were slightly higher than other Michigan beer bars, but not on Chicago levels.
This will be a stop for me whenever passing thru.
