On tap at Wolf Creek Brewing in Valencia, CA.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and some slight grass and hay aromas. Taste is much the same with a slight sweetness. There is a mild bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but the smell is pretty mild in my opinion.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange color with a white head. Sweet grain, malt, and a hint of honey. A touch of floral hops, maybe some citrus peel, too. Moderate sweetness, bready malt, cracker and biscuit malt. Light floral and grassy hops, very faint citrus peel. Kind of watery on the palate.

This is their award winning beer that they have on tap at the Wolf Creek Brewery. It is very smooth and creamy with lots of flavors and an excellent clean finish. I can see why this would be an award winning beer, it was well balanced, very refined, nothing disjointed about it and was refreshing the day I had it outside in the Indian summer heat.

Would definitely have again.

Consumed on tap at brewery 12/10/07.

Clear gold, no active carbonation, thin skin of head. Sweet, malty aroma. Flavor consists of mild honey sweetness, a little grain (thankfully, no corn) and balanced with light pine hoppiness on finish.

Why is this style so hard for everyone else to do right? The best beer of this type I have yet tried.
