I have been to the Flatbread Company at least 4 times. It's one of my favorite venues. It's a down home place where kids can bowl and their parents can enjoy themselves. It's also a great place for singles to have a beer and a pizza.

The pizza is quite good- and actually filling.

The beer selection is excellent. They rotate their their tap selections quite often. I first sampled Charles River Porter on tap there- brewed not too far away in Cambridge.

If you are with a large group, tables are the way to go.

I actually prefer sitting at the bar, which is in the back of the restaurant. You get a good side view of the bowling alley from there. It's a bit more chill at the bar, although it gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. The bartenders are outgoing and quite funky.

Overall, a good place to have a beer and a pizza. They also have good salads.

Been here several times, only bowled once.

Atmosphere is unique....an old-school bowling alley turned into a hippy pizza joint and bar.

The lengthy bar takes the 2 far lanes to the left. The rest of the dining area is kinda lame if you don't have a lane. Good music played at a reasonable decible level.

Great selection (~20 taps) with a concentration on local/regional beers. Don't come here seeking geek/ticker beers or you will be disappointed. I really dig the local slant.

Hippy servers are friendly and prompt enough, though not knowledgeable about the beers...no biggie.

The pizzas can be hit or miss. Some visits you will get a nice pizza with a reasonable amount of toppings and it's cooked properly. Other times you get a pie that's extremely skimpy on toppings (more than an inch an a half bare crust) or is burnt beyond belief. Either way, the pizzas are pretty over-priced for what they are. The organic/hippie thing is way overplayed & borderline condescending.

With its local beer focus and low pricing on beers, this is a place worth seeking out for some beers. Wouldn't really suggest eating here though.

This was my second visit to Davis Flatbread. First visit was back in August a month after they had opened.

Wait for a table was a little longer than expected, this is apparently the place to have a child's birthday party as there were multiple birthday parties going on.

The tap list is local, with brews from Wormtown, Watch City, Opa Opa, Clown Shoes, Peak, Pretty Things, CBC and more. Some of them must be rotating taps b/c they're listed as the brewery name only. Full pints only! Prices are $4.50 a pint except for the PT offering (St. Botolph right now) coming in at $6.50.

This location, unlike Amesbury, does not offer any bottles. This location, much like my previous experience at Amesbury, could do well to get some line maintenance going. My second beer had that overpowering dirty tap line flavor to it, which was very upsetting.

The food is the true attraction here. The veg special of the night was beets & chard on goat cheese and was utterly delicious. The homemade sausage with mushrooms and caramelized onions is also killer. Prices are on the high side, but the quality of food, with locally sourced ingredients, make them justifiable.

Love bowling I do. Candle Pin ... Woot! Beer and Pizza ... win win.

Awesome bread sticks, salad and pizza ... a nice healthy nosh. I love the focus on New England brews, they'll need to reach a little bit deeper rather than typical if they want more beer geeks to frequent the bar.

First visit pizza was excellent, beers tastes fresh and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Second visit was another story, Ruben pizza is odd but ended up being really good. Unfortunately the beers were not so fresh and we ended up pushing two rounds of unfinished pints out of three. Not sure if the beers they received were old, on too long or someone is not cleaning the lines properly. They need to get their staff to taste each beer every day ... it was a bit of a turn off.

Prices are very reasonable for the beer and they serve pints! Pizza is a little on the high end but this is not Domino's ... its Flatbread.

Hoping for more growth in their selection as well as better pours.

I've been making an attempt with my girlfriend to visit every Flatbread Company location in New England. It all began with a visit while home to the Flatbread in downtown Portsmouth, which served great pizza and a small, but well-chosen selection of local beers in a wonderful space. I have hardly been happier than when, in early July, I read that a Flatbread had opened in Somerville only a few days earlier.

The Somerville Flatbread is located in an old candlepin bowling alley, and they've actually kept most of the lanes. The few lanes that were removed were replaced with kitchen storage and a long, narrow bar, which houses an even better selection of local beers than the other locations I've seen. The bowling makes it a bit loud in the bar area, which is also cramped due to the narrowness, and these are the only, very minor drawbacks to the otherwise excellent space. The dining area is in the front of the building, with light coming into the brick-walled room through high, street-facing windows and numerous skylights.

The food, as at the other locations, is excellent. The only menu items are two pages of pizzas--cooked just feet away from your seat in a giant, stone oven--and a single, inventive salad. This is all you need.

The beer list may be longer than the menu, but either way it's equally well selected even if it's not entirely extensive. Multiple styles are available from breweries that are almost all within a 30-mile or so radius of Somerville. Cambridge Brewing Company, Watch City, Cape Cod, BBC and several others are available and have all been served well and fresh. My favorite pairing, thus far, has been the Tuckerman's Headwall Alt with a beet pizza. Moreover, now that $4.50 is pretty cheap for a pint in the city, the prices are an added bonus.
