22 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass. I got this from volunteering at the ACBF.

Appearanace: The beer poured a one finger head that has reduced to a thin layer. It is an amber orange color with great clarity and signs of some bubbles coming up through the glass.

Smell: bready and crystal malts, some fruitiness, and a faint hop aroma.

Taste: Bready, sweet, and crystal malts, fruitiness, and a lingering bitterness from the hops. Bitterness is killing the taste.

Mouthfeel: smooth, medium bodied, medium carbonation, and a bit of lingering asprin feel in the back of the mouth.

Overall: An alright APA in my opinion. Smelled good, but the hops bitterness ruins the taste quite a bit and has a lasting lingering. Curious to see how draft is.

From the bomber into a New Belgium globe. No freshness date noticeable.

Pours a hazy orange with a fluffly head. Nice lacing down the glass.

Nose is pretty uneventful, slight malt background with some floral hops in there as well.

Taste is what you would expect from a pale ale. Citrus and floral hops up front with a caramel malt backbone.

Medium bodies with carbonation on the lower side.

Overall not a bad APA. Nothing revolutionary but solid none the less. I'm heading to the Vineyard this summer and will be stopping by Offshore a couple of times and will probably grab a pint of this if available.

Bomber brought back from the island to me sitting in CT, poured into a pint glass.

Pours orange tinged amber. Very light on the foam with no residual layer. Fruity malt smell. Light. Malty taste, full hop bitter surrounds. Lingering Bitter. Good carbonation. Small bubblegum flavor. Some caramel.

Flavorful pale ale.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on July 29, 2012. The pour is an attractive looking copper-amber with an off-white, soapy head that lingers for the entire session.

The aroma has a nice balance of sweet malts and light earthy or floral hops. But the nose is more sweet.

The body is around medium and smooth.

The taste begins sweet but the moderate, hopped bitterness swiftly takes over and presents itself as in charge. In some respects this reminds me more of an American IPA. It is a decent beer with which to wallow away the time.

Thanks to Jayli for this one.

Poured into a tulip.

A: Pours a pale, clear, golden yellow color with 2 fingers of fluffy head. Abundant sheets of lace as the beer drinks down.

S: Sweet candy malts, with an apple scent dominating. Very light floral and citrus hops.

T: An unexpected but nice bitterness hits the palette first, followed by the sweet malts noted in the smell. Light and fruity, with some piney bitterness sticking at the end.

M: Thin in body with moderate carbonation. Light hops stick to the palette.

D: Easy drinking APA. Light and crisp.

appearance: medium amber, khaki head, not many bubbles. Ghost like lacing.

aroma of bready malts and caramel sweetness.

mouthfeel; soft and smooth

taste; bed of malt is followed mild herbal hop sting.

notes: very nice beer, good looking, nice aroma, good finish. This is listed as an APA but this is an EPA all the way.

Poured from a bomber bottle into a pint glass. Served cool.

Very pretty orange yellow body and a nice white head.

Fruity, light tangerine smell. Faint sweet grain.

Juicy hop flavor and nice grain balance.

Medium mouthfeel and light carbonation.

Nice beer. Well balanced. A lighter representation of the style. I would drink this beer again.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a light amber color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, earthy hops and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty but not too heavy malt character up front. Then some mild sweetness comes in from flavors of caramel and citrus. The hops presence is strong but not over-powering and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down quite easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, although there are better pale ales out there, this is still a solid beer worth drinking for a while.

22oz bottle purchased as a single at Yankee Spirits, Sturbridge, MA.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/2" beige head over the slightly cloudy amber brew. Head fades gradually, with plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma is lightly sweet with a vegetal hops character.

Taste starts slightly worty, has a citrus tang in the middle, and closes with earthy hops bitterness. Mouthfeel is reasonably smooth, soft over the tongue, and drinkability is alright. Flavor just isn't working for me on this one.

Decent starting head which very good rings of lace. Settles in a dome fashion. Mild haze to an otherwise dark gold color.

Smell: More sweet than most APA's. Lots of caramel. There is a mild hop spice in the background. I also note some warming alcohol to the nose.

This is a dry beer, considering the smell. Strong pale malt start, but the hop is strong in the swallow, leaving a lasting aftertaste. My only complaint would be the relatively weak body.

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clear, amber color with some orange hues. Not much in the way of a head, maybe a thin cap, and what does develop disappears very quickly. Not much in the way of lacing. Occasionally a thin line of foam is left on the glass but it slides back down fairly quickly.

The nose isn't all that strong but it does lean towards the malty side. Sweet caramel malt is present almost immediately. Pale malt makes an appearance, too. Some floral hop aromas are here but they are faint as well. Really not much else going on.

The taste follows extremely closely with the nose. Floral hops are here but sort of seem lose as the sweet malt background comes to the foreground. There is a slight bitterness in the semi-dry finish but it disappears as quickly as it shows up.

Body on the lighter side of medium with carbonation somewhere in the middle. Semi-dry throughout, but even more so at the finish. The weaker flavors and aromas seem to make it feel thinner than it probably is.

Overall, this is a below average beer. Light malts and even lighter hops don't play well with the mouthfeel of the beer. It's somewhat dry yet seems thin and almost watery at the same time due to the lack of flavor.

A yellow-ish golden-brown colored ale served cold in a pint glass this brings a decent off-white froth that maintains a thin cover and generous lacing. The aroma is a simple clean caramel wheat with a grassy edge. The flavor comes on with a crisp wheat-grass and a mild lemon edge over caramel malt. It’s very crisp in feel with a medium light body and light but frisky carbonation. It’s a tad aqueous, but not in a bad way for such a refreshing ale. I also get some skunk cabbage that adds a neat bitterness. Overall I enjoyed this edgy pale ale. It’s not the citrus-pine sort of hoppiness I crave most, but it delivered an interesting and refreshing ale treat.

I picked up a bomber at Kappy`s in Falmouth, MA.

Appearance is a darkened yellow tone with a thin head.
The smell of MCPA is really basic, with some malt and hops present, but not overpowering. Taste has a slight stronger presence with similar elements and a bit of bitterness in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is ok, with appropriate carbonation levels for this pale ale. Drinkability is also ok. Overall, this beer is a good option versus BMC when on the cape/islands.

Pours medium amber with a decent head. Some lace.

Some dry grain and toasted notes. Some hoppy aromas.

Decent malt with a bit of a dried edge to it. Bitterness is firm, and is a bit too much. The malt needs some sugar, and is more sour than sweet as the palate clears.

Medium body, good carbonation.

Overall, not bad. Some flaws, but worth a try.

Poured from the 22 oz. bomber into a Harpoon IPA glass.

a: Clear amber with a two inch tall white head which receded slowly to rocky surface foam and patterned lacing.

s; Mild pine.

t: Light fruit up front with a hop bite which grows in intensity after a few seconds. Bitterness lingers.

m; Light and crisp.

o; Bought this on sale, assumed it was rather aged, but the hop presence was pretty powerful. Not a whole lot of flavor though after the initial fruit. Bitterness grates a bit after awhile.
