22 oz. bottle with no freshness date. Consumed on: 09/26/13.

A- Big, rocky, white head receded slowly leaving delicate lacing. Brilliant transparent gold body with a ton of small, fizzy carbonation throughout with a few bigger bubbles interspersed.

S- Clean, mellow grains. Some hay and lemon as well.

T- Really clean, light and refreshing. Very subtle, pale malt offers a bit of sweetness that effortlessly transitions into a very tame, citric hop bitterness. The hops are not very intense or flavorful, but they show up to offer a balancing note. The taste is a bit one dimensional.

M- Light bodied. Lots of sharp carbonation, and the finish is crisp and dry.

O- Not complex, but it isn't trying to be. This beer is trying to be an approachable everyman's beer, and it certainly accomplishes that. While it is listed as a blonde ale, I would believe it, if someone told me it was a pale lager. I imagine this would pair nicely with a number of lighter seafood dishes that are so popular on Martha's Vineyard, especially when lemon wedges are involved. I'm drinking this brew as the sun sets on an early autumn day as a last, desperate attempt to enjoy a fully retreated summer.

Thin, if consistent, layer of bleached white foam across the surface, not one to linger very long, any lacing slides down the glass like greased lightening. Luminescently pale yellow color, healthy amount of loosely assembled bubbles floating about, fully transparent. High-toned nose of herbal matter, quinine, corn husks, sea salts, pressed flowers and squeezed lemons, more cleansing than refreshing, goes lightly on any fruit element, by the same token only a dusting of malt powder to smooth it out texturally as well as provide any sweetness, bracing like an after shave. Medium-bodied, sharp carbonation and a dry mouth feel gives a wiry muscularity, hard to find a beer of this relative lighter weight feels this firm. Tin, stones and streamwater combine with bitter grasses and country style bread to create as much chewiness as possible. Layer on sour white grapefruit accents and peach pit and apple skin and it keeps sandpapering away at your tongue. There’s a soft malty residue at the end, never becomes unattractively tart. Not afraid to show personality and keeps its reach within its grasp.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a bright yellow color with a large white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin and spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains light caramelized malts, citrus and some hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of grain and thin malt character. Then some mildly sweet flavors of citrus and caramel come in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, mild kick, solid representation of style, although there are better beers in the style, this is still a decent beer to pound down for a long time.

Light yellow color, somewhat cloudy, good carbonation.

Smells citrusy, somewhat toasty or bready.

A little citrus up front, mild hop bitterness follows, very crisp and refreshing. Maybe a bit metallic

Good carbonation ads some bite, otherwise very smooth and light bodied.

Great summertime beer, would go good at any bbq, could probably be drank all night without getting full or too drunk.

I had this brew at The Sunset Bar in Allston, MA, on the recommendation of a friend.

Bright straw yellow in color. Smelled of fruit and some light hops.

Honestly, when I drank it, I picked up on a banana taste. Not overwhelming, but it was present. Some hops and wheat in the back.

This would be a quality brew to enjoy in the spring and summer. Not sure why I tasted banana; I'll try this again and right another review in the future.

Purchased a bomber at Yankee Spirits for about $4. Poured into a tall beer glass. The first thing that strikes me is how translucent this beer is. It's almost see through at the thin end of the glass. Bit of a haze though at the top of the glass. Lots of bubbly carbonation. Soapy white head. Smell had a hay-like aroma. Taste was very mild: very little hops or malt. Mouthfeel I guess would be the highlight here. This is a light-bodied beer with just enough substance to notice. Appropriate abv for the style. This would be a good beach weather beer, so it's relevant coming from a Vineyard brewer, but overall just kind of boring - really just too simple.
