A: Gentle poured into a glass revealing its slightly hazy yellow amber

S: Ginger and phenolic takes a comfortable seat in your upper nose

T: Not as dry as i was hopping for but the taste is nice, revealing a ginger like flavor with mild to low hops that help excentuate the fruit like flavors

M: Like i said, was hoping for a dryer beer but this one was still solid

O: A solid offering and greatly enjoyed amongst friends

Updated from a 3.75 'Had' score. 500ml poured into a Fantome tulip.

Appearance - Dark orange beer with a good finger of white head. Ring and patchy cap remain after some time.

Scent - Caramel apple, toasted bread, yeast, bits of grapefruit, some red grape.

Taste - More banana, clove and spices here. Yeast, toffee and grainy malts. Still some apple and pear going on, some potent earthy hops. Kind of a pilsner vibe underneath Belgian yeasts and fruits. A bit boozy.

Mouthfeel - Decent body with sufficient carbonation, maybe a little overly spiky+foamy. Light booze warmth but not bad.

Overall - Not the most put-together tripel I feel, but good.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a very light haze and a moderate-to-strong effervescence. Head is two thick fingers of frothy ivory foam with decent retention. Not bad!

Smell: moderately sweet malt with a hint of pear character and a light yeastiness. There's also the appearance of some alcoholic heat here; not bad, but not completely clean.

Taste: sweet malt with a cloying character that I don't like. Tripels are supposed to be sweet, sure, but this is kind of off-putting. Beyond that, the alcohol is a little hot but it is generally pretty clean.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a nice, mouth-filling creaminess.

Overall: this beer has its ups and downs. I feel like the cloying, alcoholic flavor characteristics are a bit of a drawback (albeit not wrong for the style). I think maybe the brewer could come around for another shot at this; maybe make it a little mellower.

Appearance-Copper and amber unfiltered Belgian style tripel with a dark eggshell foam.

Smell-Spices, toasty

Taste-warm butter toast and a bitter citrus finish.

Mouthfeel-creamy and smooth with a good hot finish.

Overall-Good stuff, the mouthfeel and the finish really stabalize the beer as a whole and make it better.

500ml bottle poured into a tulip.
Appearance: Unfiltered amber honey. Small islands of foam scattered across the surface.
Smell: Like a musty, damp old house. I can almost smell the mineral layer coating the leaky pipes. In the background someone is baking sweet bread, but the aroma comes and goes. And the plum tree in the backyard is over-ripe and dropping its fruit.
Taste: Sweet, woody cherry pits. The sweetness is mildly offset by a restrained astringency, but the sugars prevail in the end. No bitterness to speak of.
Mouthfeel: Thick, round, and mostly flat. Rests like a brick on my tongue. A slight, yet gradually increasing, warmth from the alcohol.
Overall: I don’t know… I’m trying really hard to like this brewery. I appreciate their “damned to marketing” approach with the rotating labels. Very punk rock. But I’ve yet to be terribly impressed with one of their beers. The BJCP style guidelines say that a tripel should have “substantial carbonation”, yet this beer is decidedly under-carbonated. There is no bitterness to offset the sweetness, and the alcohol gets a bit hot as the beer warms. I hope they can tighten things up, or we may have to terminate our short-lived romance.

(Served in a tulip)
A- This beer pours a slightly hazy apricot-yellow body with a thick cream of light beige that sticks to the glass with each sip. There is a slow carbonation of tiny bubbles that trail up the glass.

S- The spicy phenol hint blends with a dried yeast aroma and some hints of earthy hops that take on some lemon pith and dry white wine notes in the finish.

T- The dried yeast character has some club soda ester notes and a dry finish with a softly pungent green hop flavor. The after taste shows the pungent hops growing more bitter and taking on a dandelion greens flavor.

M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a carbonic acid bite in the fizzy finish. There is no alcohol heat noticed.

O- This is a well-built Tripel that is mild in yeast character and depth. I prefer Tripels with a bit more fruity ester and some more depth aswellas just a touch of sweetness to it.
