Notes/Commercial Description:
A beer for the ladies, crazies and connoisseurs. A floral, hoppy and fruity French-style saison. Saisons are completely undescribable so we won't even try. Our interpretation has five types of grain, Lavery Estate hops and three different strains of yeast! The yeast is the star of this show - fruity, spicy, fragrant, alluring and simply delicious. This beer ends dry and crisp and bottled conditioned with Brettanomyces Clausenii, a wild yeast that adds fruity, tart and mildly funky aromas and flavors to ale. This beer is great young but will change considerably with time.

Named Liopard oir, Irish for 'gold leopard', which appears on the Lavery Family crest.

Bottle into tulip.

Pours straw yellow, hazy, with huge rocky white head that has aggressive retention.

Nose is very citrusy, grass, and a touch catty. Brett is very evident. Get lime peel, prairie grass, and lemon juice.

The flavor displays a malty backbone and belgian yeast strain that showcases saison and light belgian blonde characteristics. Has a soapy nuance that harms the overall flavor profile of the beer. A metallic tinge also comes through and brings this down even more.

Mouthfeel is light and almost watery. Carbonation level is appropriate though.

Overall, just a big fail on the taste. A lingering laundry detergent taste lingers in the palate and makes you want to drink more only to get rid of it for a second. Then it returns.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip
A: Light yellow, tons of carbonation and even with a slow pour this forms a 2.5 finger head
S: Green apple, wheat, citrus, spice/herbs. Subtle at first, they definitely came out more as the beer warmed up
T: More green apple, citrus (mostly lemon, a hint of lime), wheat, pepper
M: Light bodied, lots of carbonation
O: I can taste the brett on the finish but it's not as prominent as I expected. Overall this is a solid Saison, definitely worth trying. My only gripe is that the label suggests trying it with age but there's no date on the bottle to confirm how young/old it is

a: Mostly clear, very pale straw color, pours with a very sticky, fluffy white head.

s: Grainy minerals, candy like berry and grape, pithy lemon, and some peppery spice.

t: Candied fruit flavor (fun dip?), lightly sweet earthy grains with a hint of citrus. The finish is minerally with a light lingering funky yeast.

m: Light and airy.

o: Nice table strength, bretty saison.

Served in a 3oz glass, part of a six-beer flight at Lavery's brewery.

Appearance - hazy yellow with a half-inch head.

Smell - fruity, like grapes or apples with herbs.

Taste - light and fruity, with herbal notes.

Mouthfeel - lightly carbonated.

Overall - a decent, but weak saison. the beer had a slightly flavorful finish, but lacks identity.
