I tried this beer at the brewery. It was part of a six sample flight. It poured a opaque dark with ecru head that did not leave much lace. The scent had very nice roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and subtle chocolate notes. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

Pours a very dark brown with a two inch mocha heat that left ample lacing. Smells of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Tastes of bitter coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, rye, roasted malts and a hint of vanilla. Light bodied for a stout, medium carbonation, bitter finish, mouth feel is on the thin sise.

Always surprised in a pleasant way by this brewery.

Great stout. As promised, nice and dry with a slightly spicy, dark roasted , malty taste. Nice dark brown, good head and lacing. Pleasant dark chocolate smell. Will buy again next time I am in Erie.

Pours black with nearly two fingers of dark caramel-colored head. Head retention is fair with a ring or two of caramel-colored lacing left behind. Aroma is short and staccato with rye spice and roasted malts with a hint of toasted malts. It's dry and brief. Flavor profile features a tingling rye spice throughout, with the rye note hanging around rather long. Roasted malts with a hint of toasted coconut and bready malts form the rest of the flavor profile. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a graininess that nearly pushes the thickness into the "thick" territory. It drinks like a meal. Overall, the rye notes shine well forming a dry, sharp aroma and flavor profile. Combine the brief aroma with the more lingering flavor profile and the grainy feel, and this beer provides a heck of an experience. The shorter flavor profile really keeps the filling, grainy texture from being too much.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Appearance - Pours black with nice dense mocha colored head. Excellent lacing.

Aroma - Mostly roasted malts and milk chocolate with just a touch of vanilla. There are also hints of coffee.

Taste - The taste is similar to the aroma, mostly roasted malts and some bitter dark chocolate. Just a hint of coffee.

Feel - Feel is pretty thin, decent carbonation

Overall - A pretty decent stout. If not for the thin feel it would be much better. Flavors are very balanced.

This pours a nice dark inky looking black, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.

This smells like rich dark chocolate, oats, rye spice, and grainy roasted malt.

This is the type of stout I'm often looking for when the world is overly filled with dessert sugar bomb stouts- it's grainy, bitter, and roasty in all the right ways. There's lots of rustic rye character, grainy and spicy, with bitter, almost charred roasted malt, dark chocolate, and bitter coffee. There's barely any sweetness, which works for me.

This is medium bodied, feels thicker than the lower ABV would suggest. It's pretty creamy and rich.

This is a really nice stout from these guys- just very well constructed.
