Notes/Commercial Description:
Chart a new course with Daymark as your guide. We start with a classic, clean and crisp American pale ale brewed with spicy Columbus and Centennial hops. Then we accent the grain bill with rye grown on small local family farms right here in Maine and malted to our specifications at Valley Malts, an artisanal malt house. Finally we dry hop the finished beer for a bright floral aroma.

Bottle courtesy of the ever generous Bill. Poured into the big Sam Adams perfect pint glass that almost holds the whole bomber.

A - golden yellow at the top light yellow at the bottom a big fluffy yellow tinted head. Pretty clear. Honestly for appearance it doesn't get any better than this.

S - A nice light hoppy aroma, some citrusy hop aromas , a hint of sweetness. Smells pretty nice.

T - Not as balanced as the nose would suggest, definitely a little hoppier than expected but I won't complain. The C hops make their presence known with some citrus flavors, a little light grainy note in the finish. A lemony hint in the finish with a little rye presence but not much in that department.

M - light to medium bodied, more carbonation than I'd like in the beer. This is the only real negative to this beer.

Overall a solid beer. A little less carbonation and a little less from the hops and this would be a home run. That being said it is enjoyable as is and I wouldn't mind throwing back a bunch of these.

In a pint glass the beer was a hazy, almost turbid orange tan color. The medium-sized tan head dissipated quickly.
Sweet fruity aroma. Citrus, but also some other kind of fruit. Herbal.
Sweet fruit up front, but with a tang. Piney hops.
A nice hoppy APA. Rising Tide does it again.

Served in a pint glass.

The head on this is big and dense little bubbles. It is cream and hugs the glass perfect. The color is hazy straw and orange with a creamy quality.

The nose is spice hops with a citrus backing. The malt is sweet but the hops and eventually the rye take the back.

The taste matches the nose. Sweet and creamy at first but quickly is dry with a bitterness from the hops. very nice.

The feel on this is great.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, light gold in color, high carbonation, hazy

Smell: citrus hops, lime, and lemon

Taste: citrus hops, pale malt, lime, and lemon--light rye

Mouthfeel: sweetish start with a slightly bitter finish, light bodied with high carbonation

Overall: An interesting pale ale/rye beer with a lot more lime taste to it than I had anticipated. The rye is there but it is faint. I have had better from this brewery, but I would not turn this down.

Poured from a bottle into a glass.

Appearance: Clear golden yellow color, with about one finger of white head. Heavy lacing left on the glass.

Smell: Citrus, hops, and some pine notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth, medium to light bodied. Taste of mild citrus and hops, very mild IPA, not a "hoppy" as I expected.

Overall: Good beer, If you are just getting into IPAs, this is one to start out on. It gives a good overall IPA flavor without the huge punch of intense hops.

22oz bomber poured into a Hill Farmstead wine glass - thanks to rfc2323 for the hookup!

Pours a slightly hazy amber/yellow with a honey tint to it, there's a huge two finger white fluffy head. Nose is fantastic - fruity and bitter, a bit earthy/grassy and just a tinge of honey sweetness (think Hopslam).

Well, the first fault comes right off at the start - body is a bit low, I'll attribute this to the rye, carbonation is nice and does make up for a lot of it. There's a solid hop/rye bitterness that bites at your pallate. Finish is a bit harsh in the bitterness but it's still tasty and fairly easy drinking.

Fresh bottle from Maine. The rye and the Centennial and Columbus combined make this a very bitter beer, even astringent. Would like to distinguish the rye spiciness if I could. The bottle says a pale, its not that. It is more malty with sediment on the bottle and grows on me as far as drinkability, but it is also a palate eraser and harsh.

light and easy, mild carbonation.

lots of fun. very easy to drink and refreshing. loved this. only beef is the massive head in the pour.

Served on-tap at Novare Res

Nice light golden yellow color with a bit of haze and a fluffy white head. Aroma features some citrus hop notes over a strong bready and malty backbone.

Fruity and sweet up front with a good bite from the hops that provide some herbal character as well. Malts add some biscuit notes with just a bit of a kick from the rye. Really enjoying how this beer balances being both a rye beer and a pale ale.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp and plenty refreshing for a nice summer rye beer. Overall, this is my first beer from Rising Tide and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I love a good rye beer but have been rather disappointed with many I've had recently so I'm glad this one came along.

22 oz bomber poured into a pint glass.

Pours dirty bronze with 2 inches white foam. Quite puffy. Laces a lot. Pine and grass nose. Spicy. Lemony. Lighter malt taste, with a subtle hop. Some bitterness hangs out at the end. Quite mellow, but with full flavor. Light rye in the background that would almost be missed if not written up.

Big thanks to Drazzamatazz for this great beer. Cheers!

Appearance – Pours into my SA Perfect Pint with a hazy golden color. About two fingers of slight off white head is achieved with a moderate pour that dissipates slowly leaving some great looking chunky lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell – Nice floral hops, grass, pine, a hint of citrus, and slight bread/pale malts in the background.

Taste – You can taste the Rye right away. A slightly bitter rush is experienced at the start with the nice floral and pine flavors melding nicely into a slight bready, caramel and pale malt backbone. Not insanely hoppy, but also not overly sweet (huge plus). This is an all around excellent rye beer.

Mouthfeel – Medium bodied, plenty of carbonation, finishes dry from the rye.

Overall – A very enjoyable beer that is extremely drinkable (quaffable if you will). A great amount of flavor for “only” being 5.5%. If they sold this in a six pack, and actually where I live, I would for sure get some of these to have on a hot summer day.

Finally tried the Daymark last night. I think I've found a rye beer I like! Daymark is an exceptionally well made beer, with great balance. The earthy, bready rye comes through, but it is still a crisp, drinkable ale. All Rising Tide beers are made with a lot of care, and it is no surprise that Daymark is their flagship beer.
