on tap it has a bright golden look, honey colored and clear, with an inch or so of soft white head as pure as can be. the aroma is orchard fruit and juicy hops, while the grain character seems minimal. the taste is similar, although the barley malt adds some faint toasted bread notes, pine nutty almost too, but the hops may contribute to that some. less citrus and a whole lot more apple and peary as I sip on it. bitterness is only average, which lends to drinkability. I was wanting this one to be a little more distinct, more unique to itself, but it gets lost in the crowd a little I think, fails to stand out despite being of utmost quality. cascade hops just seem a little played out right now, no matter how good the recipe.

Really nice look, translucent, yellow with a pale brown hue, nice sustaining head, excellent lacing. I get a light orange smell that grows as the beer warms, as well as some Juniper. I also was getting some rotting wood smell early that I couldn't get later.
The taste starts with a little grapefruit, but that juniper-piney-balsam taste grabs hold early and does not let go of me. The taste actually turn back to grapefruit a bit, but it combines with the pine in a way that I personally don't enjoy. This seems more in the vein of a west coast IPA. The body is decent, just light of medium.
Overall, this beer doesn't do it for me, too much bitterness that doesn't balance even itself very well. If you like a piney IPA, this might work for you.

Poured into an over sized wine glass. Color was a darker golden amber, with a dirty white 1/4 inch head. Fair amount of carbonation rising up as well. Aroma was a fruity citrus, lemon or grapefruit with just a hint of pine. Flavor was hoppy pine up front, but mellowed to a tangy sweet. Ok in the mouth, a bit thin, and head a bit over bubbly. Overall, not bad. A nice well balanced IPA. Not too weak, and not to overpowering.
