D'Automne was the first of our Entrepôt series of "warehouse ales." Originally available in draft only under the moniker [oats], d'Automne is now our fall seasonal saison-style ale featuring a generous portion of oats and fermented with a blend of French and American yeast strains. Orange in color and slightly hazy, with notes of citrus and pepper and a luxuriant mouthfeel from the oats.

Nice orange body with a citrus aroma. Has a nice banana flavor and a good pepper finish. Really good saison

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Autumn 2015 batch. Sampled on October 25, 2015.
It pours amber in color with a little olive colored hues. Quick white head.
A nice dose of sweet toffee of caramel malts on the nose along with yeast and smashed green apples.
Medium body.
Sweeter than expected taste with an overripe fruit finish and mild bitterness. Some booze.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy brownish orange with a big eggshell head that retains well. Lots of lacing.
Aroma: A little pepper, a little wheat, a little citrus, like orange rind.
Taste: Follows the nose, but has a slight syrupy quality to it on the finish. Not a slam, but noticeable.
Mouthfeel: Nice autumn depth.
Overall: The guy at Bier Cellar told me this is more like a biere de garde than a saison. Whatever it is, it's a nice way to kick off the fall seasonals. Not cheap, though, at $12 for four.
