Bottle from Harvest Market
Pours a hazy deep straw color with a decent sized big bubbled white head that dissipates quickly like diet fountain soda. Aromas of lemon, wheat, and a bit of yeasty funk. Not much appetizing about the nose IMHO. The flavor is a little sweet a bit spicy and tart with hints of lemon and yeasty funk. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a tart almost piercing mouthfeel. I didn't enjoy this one very much.

Hazy pale yeller with a thin white head. Bubble gum, clove and sour wheat aroma. Taste is fairly tart with mild clove accompaniment. Not much 'nana in this here hef.
Definitely more of an American interpretation that traditional German. Actually tastes more like Hoegaarden that a her at all.

Well they got the color right on this one-- cloudy glowing orange-- but the head is pretty lackluster. I swirled heavily to get a lot of yeast in suspension. A head of foamy thickness is a huge part of the Weißbier style, and this beer falls to a pathetic layer of fizz. No lacing. (2.5)
Aroma is nice, with a good balance of 4VG and Isoamyl Acetate, while also having some band-aidy styrene character. Unfortunately, there's also some Diacetyl in the back, and it's only getting stronger as the beer warms. (2.5)
Flavor is complex and dry. Lightly tart and heavily clovey and phenolic. Not too heavy on the fruity, banana esters. Diacetyl not apparent in the flavor. Really dry, quenching finish. Nice medium-high carbonation, despite the utter lack of head. (3.5, 3.5)
Nothing amazing, but an okay stab at the style. If this beer had a better head and were properly Diacetyl-rested, then it would have really impressed me. (3)

Poured from my new rising tide growler!
This initially poured with a really big head that faded reasonably fast. The color of the beer is a totally opaque yellow-orangish color. There is a good bit of carbonation, but its tough to see the bubbles through the color.
The nose is very clovey, there is some banana, but this is mostly clove, not sure if it is part of the clove or not but there is definitely some sweetness here in the nose.
The taste is a bit bland, not quite as wheaty or yeasty as I might expect with a hefeweizen, its fairly neutral and not at all sweat. There is just a hint of grassiness that lingers on the back of the palate.
Overall this is a pretty good example of a hefeweizen, not quite as much banana as some German styles but more than most American varieties. A definite buy again beer.

Poured from the bottle into a hotel rocks tumbler. All I got!
A: A straw hazy yellow with no head after a few minutes. no lacing. No legs.
S: sewery euro hops with a belgian style yeasty tang.
T: weak tea with coriander and wheat notes that lead to a lemony note.
M: thinner than stuff like Franziskaner, not heavy at all, not full. metallic notes on finish with lemon pepper at ultimate finish.
O: Not bad and on-par with Sebago offerings, the other local in this quality/class of beer.
