Served in a snifter at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured. It is a hazy pale orange with some clarity and vision of bubbles seen coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Resiny pine, tangerine, grapefruit, grass, passion fruit, mango all followed by toasted and caramel malts.

Taste: Resiny pine is the most noticeable. Citrus and tropical flavors are slightly behind with the malts balancing things out. Tingly mild bitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little chewy, super mild tingly bitterness, medium bodied, and medium carbonation.

Overall: For a 9.2% beer, this is pretty solid. Awesome hop characteristics with malts to back it up. This log isn't going to last too long.

The beer pours a perfect copper color that you can almost see through, minimal haze.

The smell is fantastic, juniper and evergreen. Very fragrant and enjoyable.

The taste is near-prfect for me as a moderate hop-lover. Clean and dry, mildly fruity with lots of "Pine" (I think people mis-construe Pine with Juniper, so i'll say Pine but i mean Juniper).

The mouthfeel is good but as a fan of carbonation I could stand it to be a bit more bubbly.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic Extra IPA, I've had a few of their other beers and think this is the best by-far. Seems to be less available then their others but absolutely worth looking for. Cheers.

Excellent DIPA. IPA's and DIPA's need to have dank and/or crisp hop aroma and this one certainly does. Nice citrus flavor with a clean, slightly piney finish. A bit strong on the alcohol but not overpowering. The malt aspect is like a good referee in football - it provides a stable background without affecting the outcome in an adverse way - the hops shine! Medium body and carbonation that make it surprisingly drinkable. Excellent beer overall and a staple in my fridge.

Chilling with Calcutta Cutter like Satyajit Ray cruising down the Ganges and Raul is feelin' it.

Fairly potent, fairly bitter, the hops lie there nicely like Cleopatra on a hammock... Yet overall, what is most noticeable is that the thang is just clean and smooth.

So, unlike a bar of Irish Spring that leaves you dry and chalky; this dang sucker is smooth, sexy, and leaves you prime time for grime time.
