22oz Bomber poured into a glass.

A: Light amber color. Nice creamy head.
S: Malty with a touch if cider.
T: Immediately after pouring, there was a slight metallic taste, but that went away after a few minutes. Toasted malt is very nice. Very tart. Also strong corn or DMS flavor that you would expect in a cream ale.
M: light to medium body. Tartness leaves your tongue feeling quite dry

Overall, I enjoyed this beer. Very nice for a warm Spring day like today (especially after finishing the yard work). I probably would not drink more than one bomber because it is so tart. It needs to be followed up with something a bit sweeter.

I would categorize this as more of a tart Cream ale, however there is enough toasted malt flavor that I can see it as a Blonde.

This is a great session beer. You can drink this all day and you won't get tried of it, and it won't let you down. Can't wait to try the other Riverwalk beers, Aged in oak barrels sounds fantastic. We very are lucky to have this brewer in East County.

This one's tough. On tap it tastes great. Flavorful, perfectly carbonated, all that good stuff. On tap, I give it a 4.

But in a bottle it's just average. Pours a yellow color with little head. It has kind of a metallic aroma. The flavors are mild, Light hops. Unfortunately, the metallic aroma is there on the tongue as well. Light bitter aftertaste. Normally I would think maybe I got an old bottle, but this was purchased from the brewery.

In short, if you see this on tap, it's worth trying. Very good at the brewery. But in a bottle, just average.

Thanks to a friend for bringing a bottle back from San Diego. I popped it open to wash down some Thai curry, and it delivered. This blonde/kolsch has a tall white head and a slight haze to the light amber body. The malt is clean and bready, almost like dough, with a light touch of crust and fruit sweetness. It's definitely a gateway beer, but the flavor open up nicely as the beer warms. Check it out.

Poured from a draft into a pint glass at Manzanita Brewing Company in Santee, Calif. Color was hazy banana. About a finger of head. Uneven cloudy lacing on the top. Plenty of nice film in the sides.

Smelled clean and light with just a touch of cirrus notes.

Tasted wheat, citrus, water and light banana notes.

Light body. Lively (above average carbonation. Clean, crisp and refreshing.

Just an OK beer, but the feel really stood out. Do you want a summer brew? Then this is it.

Snifter.

A: Yellow gold with a finger of white sea foam. Good retention and pretty good clarity.

S: Light sulfur with a whisper of mineral and lemon. Grainy, bready malt accompanies grassy hops.

T: Grainy malt with light biscuit notes and a little sweetness. I get a touch of sulfur and grassy notes are evident. There's a low bitterness and the finish is clean and crisp.

M: Light in body with high carbonation. The mouthfeel is crisp and dry.

Overall: A well executed and enjoyable Blonde Ale. I don't really have any complaints.

Bomber poured into a pint glass, the Riverwalk Blonde pours a golden straw with a touch of haze and sports a light cap. Retention is a bit brief and some lace is offered.

Aroma is typically light overall given the style. Some bready malt, perhaps a hint of wheat in the mix and a faint lemony hop presence. Hops become more prominent with warming in a lemon oil though not quite pledge sense.

Taste is slightly sweet and grainy, yet not so much. Rather slick and smooth actually, offering only moderate flavor yet moderate resistance as well. Quaffs easily and more so with some food, yet doesn't cause one to linger. A perfectly acceptable Blonde albeit a bit thin in body and coarseness of flavor, and a touch sweet. A perfect recipe for a woman, yet still a decent recipe for a beer.

A touch of hoppiness fills the mouth and gives the impression of a spritzy Pilsener or a Kolsch. Light in every way but a nice full carbonation is a great feature for drinkability. Sharp with the taste of pancakes. Quite lovely with the light golden color and creamy head. On the tart side but without the malty flavors of a Wit, say. A good quaff, and I'll try it on tap next time.

A 22 oz bottle from Barons on Pt. Loma Blvd in San Diego, one of my frequent beer store visits. See the interesting info in the Bros review.

Pours a clear golden yellow in the glass with a nice thick white head.

Smell- I cant really detect alot in the smell. Maybe a little malt.

Taste- unlike the smell there is alot going on. Tons of grains and sweet spices. I get some coriander and orange peel. Its very light and crisp but with tons of flavor.

Overall - its perfect for a hot summer day and is very easy to drink. I took this one for granted. Very well done

I would go on a riverwalk with this beer, but the nearest one is too much of a drive for my lazy butt. I suppose that I could walk along the ditch that runs behind my house, but then I wouldn't be able to see where I was going, let alone know how much beer was left in my glass. As you would expect, it's another generic broadcast from my room. Once that cap is popped, we'll be ready to roll. Psstt...pop! On to the beer:

Depending on the lighting where the glass is, this beer will range from highlight yellow to golden sunshine in color. The head show some persistence, slowly dropping to a semi-creamy lace. A few whiskers stick around. Nose is....to be honest, better and more interesting than I thought...at least in the begining. Light citrus and fresh cut grass, even sugar cookies are in the mix. More time kills the sugar cookie note and sharper grassy elements kick in.

One part of me likes the cream ale characteristics that this beer seems to have, another part of me isn't so fond of sharp grass. The sweet cream notes are easy going and allow for vegetal and some bitterness to hit. The bitterenss is sharp at time, chemically even, and not the most pleasant, which is critical towards docking a half point off the taste. Feels quite meaty for a blonde ale, perhaps a given because this one clocks in at 6% ABV.

Riverwalk could have made a first good impression from this east county brewery, but ultimately doesn't quite make it. Here's hoping the red (which I have in queue) is a better showing of Manzanita's abilities.
