Bottle into a Sierra Nevada pint glass. Copper colored, really clear, thick tan head that sticks around for a while and leaves a nice lace
Smell is sweet juicy fruit with a bit of toast. Really great.
Taste is malty upfront with a hoppy bitterness to balance it nicely. A little bit toasty
Very creamy mouth feel with enough carbonation to make it a little weird. Almost like a nitro up front, then unexpected sharpness
Overall not bad. I had high hopes considering the smell and appearance, but unfortunately it didn't live up to them. Not bad at all, but not great.

Color- mildly hazy amber. Medium head.
Aroma- mildly spiced with hoppiness.
Taste- Starts hoppy with a very dry middle finishing with a lingering bitter finish. Nothing memorable here.
Poured from 650 ml bomber into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted 12/31/12.

Yet another San Diego IPA. A single that clocks in at 8%, no less. 88 Ibu's on the label.
A: Fairly dark amber color on the pour. Splash over a finger of light tan head. Bubbles are a mix of large and small. Retention is pretty good. Lacing is also nice. Bubbles rise to the surface fairly lazily, so this one is going to have some body.
S: Malt dominant in the smell. Caramel, toffee, nutty. Hops are fairly muted. Some tropical flavor, virtually no citrus.
T: Meh. Immediately, from the get go, this is forgettable. Plenty of bitterness in the finish, but little to no hop flavor. Front of the tongue is more of the nutty caramel, but even this is pretty weak. Mid palate is stone fruit, but very muddled, along with green apple skin. Again, very light citrus. Finish is a hit of astringent bitterness with very little redeeming character. Still, this doesn't taste like 88 IBU's. Wonder what the hop bill is on this...
M: No surprise here at 8%, but this one drinks more like a double, which I love. Body is slightly creamy, and the alcohol helps to glide things along.
O: Not impressed, especially at that price. Yes, it's huge and bitter and has a great mouthfeel. But it lacks almost any semblance of IPA flavor. Many people have stated that this is more in line with an English IPA. I would agree with that. This beer is pretty mediocre and I will not be seeking it out again.
