Draft in a goblet. Had in sunny South Philadelphia, PA, on the date of review.
Looks the part of an imperial pumpkin ale. Dark Amber with a steady off-white head.
Kinda smells like candy corn, not gonna lie.
Kinda tastes like the Jones Soda Co. Candy Corn soda (that's not a compliment) with a dash of pumpkin.
Mouthfeel is light, over carbonated. Soda-like....
It's just not very good... It's definitely drinkable but I would not recommend it on draft atleast... This score feels a little too high, especially because I had high hopes on this one.

October 5th, 2013 - I first found Witch's Hair on a North Park beer walk. Tucked way back into a curio store was a small set-up, pouring samplers of the Witch's Hair for those wandering far enough off the path to earn it. My camera failed me that day, but the senses were heightened and ware. The scent is spicy, creamy and sweet, like a pumpkin ice cream, and the flavor brings much of the same. Lots of pumpkin pie spices and clove at the head push the flavor, which is dry, yet slightly sweet at the same time. And the aftertaste? I'll quote my notes: "Clove clovey clove clove." Lots of clove, but not gross. Just strong. Great autumnal brew, and better than most heavily seasoned brews I know.

Taste is pumpkin pulp, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and toasted malt. Sweet for the style and it hits all the expected notes. Enough to keep me interested enough to try another offering from the brewery.

I had this draft when visiting San Diego about 1 month ago at Barleymash and honestly didn't know it was a pumpkin ale (at the time)... now knowing the flavors make sense... one of better pumpkin beers, probably best one I've had... I'm not really a fan of pumpkin beers, but this one was drinkable and would get again. Tasted the cloves and vanilla mostly, which I like, so was overall pretty good.
