Amber...copper...giant head that forms into fun designs, like a big fat boobie...aroma of bread...taste is of sweet malt, milk chocolate, salty earth & slight apricot...nice brew. This brew has some roughness but overall decent. I could drown a pint or so...ayiee!!!

On tap at Iron Fist Brewing Company in Vista, CA.

Pours a slightly murky honey orange with a tan head that settles to a small cap. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, fruits, and some spice aromas. Taste is very much the same with the spices coming through on the finish. This beer has a light level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good saison with some nice aromas and flavors.

On-tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad

A: The beer pours an orange-amber color with a finger of white head.

S: Sweet malt and bread make up the bulk of the aroma. There is a light fruitiness of banana and (to a lesser extent) apples and pears. A touch of spice in the form of white pepper and a nice touch of doughy biscuit on the finish.

T: Starts off with a hint of apple and pear, both of which intensify as the beer warms up. A decent sweetness of bread and biscuit malts, as well as some banana. Lightly spicy and yeasty with a note of pepper. Just a slight bitterness on the finish.

M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: One of the better Iron Fist beers I've had to this point. A nice saison.

On tap at Iron Fist, this is a Saison made with all Belgian Pale Malt.

A: Appears darker than Out of Hand, a deep tangerine orange color with an impressive mass of froth that lingers for a a very long time and leaves sheets of lacing on the glass.

S: Lots of orange, with lesser notes of apple and pear. White pepper is evident, but it's not as spicy as Out of Hand. Malt is faint and hops impart strong floral notes.

T: This immediately strikes me as a smoother and more refined beer than the Out of Hand. The flavors are better integrated and the alcohol is not as strong. Orange blends with peach, apple, and pear. White pepper imparts a light spiciness. Malt is faint, and there's a low bitterness.

M: Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Overall: A tasty Saison, though it could use more carbonation on draft. Regardless, this was the clear winner for me between Iron Fist's two new Saisons.

A friend (Thanks Bigturo) just brought this growler from Iron Fist today. Apparently it's something they have on tap only, but they are considering bottling it, since it's getting fairly popular. The alcohol was not listed on the Growler tag (which was of Hired Hand, crossed out with "Off Hand" hand written on the label.) so the abv is based on that beer. From the taste, my guess is it's fairly close to that, give or take a 1% or so.

A: Poured from the growler into a Bruery tulip glass, the beer pours a cloudy golden orange. A quarter inch of white head slowly rose, and slowly settled, leaving generous coating of lacing.

S: I get very mild nutmeg or maybe cinnamon, some citurs notes, light carament, and wheat or toasted bread.

T: Sweet caramel malted barley, tropical fruits, what I would describe as a spice, maybe rye, nutmeg, or pinches of cinnamnon, and light belgian yeast. Very nice.

M: Medium mouth and carbonation, but still crisp and refreshing, with a slightly dry finish.

O: I liked this a lot, better then Hired Hand, but this also solid. It was great on this 90+ degree weather today. I hope they bottle this.
