Pours copper with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows biscuity, bready malt, soft spicy notes and very faint sweet floral/berry notes.
Flavours at first consist of a tangy bite followed by spicy notes. After that the malt shows up, with big biscuity, bready characters alongside toasty melanoidin hints.
Carbonation is a bit full on really.
I wasn't expecting much from this but was pleasantly surprised. The berries and rose hips are very subtle but provide a refreshing initial start. Not worth the $13.50 though....

Bottle from @LaitueGonflable.

Pours a fizzy, cloudy copper-amber colour—the head dissipates really quickly leaving some large-bubbled film and a ring of insipid nothingness around the glass. Body has a little heft to it, but overall, it looks a bit weak.

Nose is surprisingly interesting: slightly spicy, with slight acidity and a savoury fruit bitterness coming through. Hints of juniper and crushed leaves, along with a grainy, toasted bread or rye crispness. Very interesting.

Taste is also very good. Crisp husky grain character provides a firm basis, on which is layered more of those savoury fruit characters, giving a light organic bitterness. There's also a pleasant creaminess to it, aided by the heavier than expected body. The rosehips perhaps lend the only fragrant sweetness to the mix—the hawthorn and sloe berries are husky, organic characters.

Really interesting brew. More than anything, it reminds me of a Scandinavian Sahti—it has that same sweetness tempered with organic non-hop-based bitterness. Fascinating to see and Australian brewery doing something similar.

This is my last offering from this brewery and ive never heard of Hawthorn or Sloe berries but i have now and the brew pours a light see through copper hue with decent carbonation that leaves behind a frothy two finger head and sporadic lacing, the smell is sweet rosewater, fresh cut grass, leafy berries and candy,it has a light-medium bodied well carbonated mouthfeel and has tastes of rosewater, lilly pilly berries, strawberries, spices, caramel and is finished with a sweet, spicy moreish finish and overall its alright but i do think they could of done abit more with this one as it does have some potential.

Label is quite descriptive in explaining what goes into the beer. Nearly a hybrid hybrid as it could be an herb/spice beer as well.

Loud pfft when popping the top sounds a warning that the head will be large. It s on pouring but settles to a thin off white head. Slight haze with a pale reddish hue. High carbonation, lots of tiny bubbles streaming up through the beer. This is bottle conditioned so the cloudiness is no flaw.

Sweet malty aroma with some floral and berry notes. Pretty nice really. Wasn't sure what to expect. Think some of the aroma additions may have been lost in the process.

Taste is slighty astringent. Not sure if that is coming from the fruit? Otherwise light and crisp. Not a lot of heavy dark malt flavors. Adding the sediment gives it a yeasty edge to it which probably doesn't help. Some bitterness there which may be hop, fruit or yeast induced.

Seems like a beer that could have gone in two directions and sort of tried a bit of both. Could have been a light refreshing berry wheat beer, or a berry infused dark winter warmer (considering the time of year the latter would have been great). As it is, it's not really much of either. Still an interesting beer and I'd probably try it again.
