big thanks to barrelandzachary for sending this my way as well as a counter-pressure fill of the special winter ale (Bulleit Bourbon aged version of Ode To Mercy) which i opened side-by-side with this.
Enjoyed from a sixpoint snifter.
a - brew poured a ruby highlighted chestnut with a finger of creamy head that never fully left. lacing was a wall of creamy foam and moved as a whole.
s - nose is coffee...nut...roast. brown sugar and earthy grain.
t - bam. there it is...imperial brown ale on coffee. as advertised. solid one at that. the coffee is a bit heavy handed over the brown and dialed back quite a bit with the special winter version (and then coated in caramel happiness...but that's the other beer). so yeah, this beer is a good imperial brown ale, but next to that special winter version...doesn't hold a candle. worth checking out though if you like browns with bitter coffee.
m - a bit dry and bitter on the finish and prickly carbonation.
o - overall, super solid imperial brown with coffee. check it out...but hot dog...dat special winter ale version of this beer...kill or maim for that one.

A- Poured from a 64oz growler into a pint glass. Beer poured with a thick, foamy cream head, about one and a half fingers; stalactitic lacing. A rich rum color.
T- Leather in the front, leather in the back. Some caramel, and a touch of cherry. Coffee throughout. Bitter, although not hoppy.
M- Gritty. Like drinking a sand soda.
O- This is a great beer! Leather is really winning me over. I wish there was slightly more caramel.

Poured into a snifter
A: Clear chocolate brown with cherry highlights. An off-white half-finger head that dissipates to a bubble rim. Light lacing.
S: Boozy with a basket of cherries. Leather and anise.
T: Smokey, boozy, sweet. Caramel and malts lead the way with a great nuttiness. Slightly astringent.
M: Medium with medium carbonation. A bit oily.
O: Glad I got to try this Georgia beer. A tasty Imperial Brown. Great art on the label, too.
