Had this beer at Harbour Bar & Fish House in Decatur, GA with their fish and chips. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. It complimented my dinner wonderfully. Served in a chalice type glass, on draft. Had a beautiful golden brown color. Wonderful combination of roasted malts and coffee. Finished very smoothly. Not overly bitter. Many kudos to Wild Heaven for a lovely beer experience!

I'm not a huge brown ale guy, but if it has coffee in it, I've got to try it. Terrific coffee flavor. My wife even liked it. Has the coffee flavor you'd expect out of a good stout, but without the chocolate overtones. Definitely worth the try.

The Best Nighty-Night Beer
Some beers are light, some beers are heavy. This beer needs to be drinkable, sweet and high proof. Needs to be able to end a good meal and be a relaxing end to the day. The Winner is Wild Heaven – Ode to Mercy

Wild Heaven - Ode to Mercy
. This beer is an imperial brown, it is caramel malty sweet and crisp; distinct in both bottles and kegs, the beer is a newcomer, but still a great fixture to the Atlanta Beer scene. It is risky to start with an imperial beer, but they pulled it off.

On-tap at Leon's Full Service in Atlanta.

Pours a clear dark brown color with a two-finger tan head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving decent lacing.

Smells of muted toasted malts with hints of light chocolate.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Smooth toasted malt flavors with hints of deeper roast kick things off. Midway through the sip hints of light chocolate flavors work their way into things. Near the end of the sip a slight bitterness comes into play and is the only way I would guess coffee was used in the brewing process.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with moderate carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I didn't have any problems finishing my glass and could have another.

Overall I thought this was a decent enough big brown that didn't take the easy (but still tasty) way out by over-hopping everything. Still, the coffee is almost non-existent, I'd like to see some tweaks to better showcase the flavors.

Many thanks to Ahlthe3rd for the chance to taste this. Second offering from Wild Heaven I have tried, the first was very good. Poured from bottle into Brooklyn tulip. Pour appearance is a little surprising- transparent light brown color. Not what I was expecting (would expect a much darker and cloudy color). Really nice fluffy off white head with superior retention. 30 mins later it is still there. Smell- cocoa, nutty roastiness, espresso. Very creamy body. Taste- the cocoa hits the front of the tongue, roast with espresso beans on the back of the palate. Super rich and creamy. This is a really nice beer, I would have it again for sure.

Brought to New Mexico by plane from Atlanta. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.

A- Pours a medium brown with tinges of amber. Head is about a quarter to a half inch.

S- Smell is very potent malts, strong hints of caramel and toffee. No presence of liquor.

T- Really great taste to this brew. Initial notes of toffee and caramel give way to a pleasant bite of coffee. Finishes with a slight hint of booze that blends with coffee to give your palate a kick.

M- Smooth, creamy, minor heat from the alcohol at the end. Very enjoyable to drink.

Overall- An excellent beer and one I'd want to have more often if I could. Should have picked up more.
