Poured from a firkin at the Draught House 43rd Anniversary Party. This is the regular smoked porter brewed with beef jerky.
The beer pours a very hazy, cloudy brown color with a few tan bubbles. The aroma is very smoky. I get a lot of charred ash notes, as well as some heavily roasted malt and some salty, meaty beef jerky notes. Very odd, but actually quite nice.
The flavor is similar. I get a ton of salty meaty notes as well as some very smokey, ashy malt notes. The beer is quite salty and has one of the weirder flavor profiles I have encountered.
Medium to thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Glad I got to try it.
