A light tan head settles into a nice lacing above a clear bright copper-reddish colored beer.

Light roasted malt aroma with nice hops presence coming through as well.

Roasted caramel malt presence in the taste is balanced with a fair amount of almost citrus like hops.

A lighter dryish aftertaste that harbors some of the roasted malt tastes on this medium bodied beer.

Decent enough example of this style of beer, I wouldn't mind downing a few of these on any given afternoon.

a: deep amber, almost copper.. head perfectly reached the top of my KRBC pint glass.. it actually stuck around too..

s: there's actually a good dose of hops in the nose.. piney hops with a hint of lemon.. its balanced out big bready notes & some caramel.. reminds me a lagunitas beer.

t: upfront is sweet malts.. toasty malts with some breadiness.. middle of the tongue the caramel/toffee pulls through. back end is slightly dry with a bit of pine hop bite.. rounds out with a lingering toasted malt flavor.. some pine does stick around as well..

mf: good medium body with a good amount of carbonation.

o: overall a decent brew.. paired well with my pizza. would make a good fall beer imo

Pours a clear dark orange form the can. Rising bubbles are seen. A very thin ecru head. Very sweet malt aroma of orange and candied yams with carmel sauce with some earth hops behind. Taste does not follow. Taste is hops: pinecone-woody and grapefruit skin. There is a sharp tang in there as well, not metallic. Decent.

A: Thick white head. Foam stuck to the sides of the glass all the way down. Dark red to malt brown. Light on the bubbles.

S: Sweet. Pine and tree sap. Slightly floral.

T: Sweet up front again. A hoppy backbone comes in and finishes with leather and mahogany.

M: A bit thick and chewy. On the dry side. Could benefit from more crispness to clean the palate. Slight metallic/mineral aftertaste.

O: Just didn't work for me. Too dry. Not very refreshing and not nearly enough crispness. Bought this can on a trip to Phoenix, I liked all the beers from the Four Peaks taster tray better.

I CANnot seem to find her now, but Miss A used to be on this site and not only was she a friend, but she also hailed from Flagstaff. Come in, Bocktech! This review is for yunz guys.

From the CAN: "Brewed by Beaver Street Brewing Co. Inc.";"Pack it in, pack it out!"; "It's all about altitude!" and "Flagstaff, Arizona".

The Crack & Glug immediately revealed a nice change of pace in the form of a finger-and-a-half of foamy, tawny head that hung around like it was not anxious to leave. Lacing was beginning to form as I typed. Color was a deep reddish-amber with NE-quality clarity. BUPGOO! Nose was slightly hoppy, a little nutty and I was anxious. Mouthfeel was medium with an initial burst of citrus hops, but balanced by a pleasant caramel flavor on the tongue. Mmmm. Finish was more malty/caramel than hoppy, but there was still enough of a hoppy bite to it that I felt whole again. I'm telling you, the steady stream of AALs on this misguided adventure is killing me! My, but this was tasty. I am not going back out to Flagstaff any time soon, even if salmon is on the menu, but this would be good in a cooler if you are able to get some.

Thanks to Bobby for this beer.

A: The beer pours a light amber color with a fair amount of orange and a creamy off-white head.

S: There is a fair amount of citrus hop character with some pine notes to it. A light floral character to go along with toasted malt and a slight sweetness of toffee and bread.

T: Lots of malt flavor. Heavy on the bread and toast with a bit of toffee and caramel. The hop flavors are not quite as intense as the aromas. Citrus, grass, and floral notes with a light bitterness.

M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: Not a bad red ale. I liked the aroma a bit better than the nose, however.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a shaker pint glass.

A: Clear, medium amber color with less than one finger of cinnamon-tinted foam head. Lacing is heavy at the top of the glass, but lighter below.

S: Toasted grain and ginger ale are at the center of the smell, with harsh minerals in the background. Identifiable hop qualities are lacking here.

T: Begins off-dry with weak toffee and fairly dark citrus fruit. Grainy malt precedes the restrained bitter finish.

M: Thin viscosity, slightly sticky on the palate, with light carbonation.

D: While not lacking flavor, this beer falls well short of what should be considered interesting. The smell is most disappointing, but bright and assertive hops could be more present in the taste as well. After seeing Lumberyard win some GABF gold in 2010 I was eager to try their product, but this beer has been a letdown.
