Just down the street from the Berkley and not that far from the Saucer.
66 taps in three stations around the three sided bar. A smattering of tables and half-booths provide the majority of the seating. A couple of picnic tables on the sidewalk provide outdoor dining.
Our waiter was excellent. New quite a bit about the product he was serving and advised us on new offerings about to go on tap.
Death by Hops, Double Trouble, and Seeing Double all pouring on my two visits over the weekend. Menu organized the taps by new offerings and then by style. Menu was up-to-date.
Food was ambitious in a gourmet burger fashion. This is mainly a burger joint, but salads and apps are pretty tasty too. My son absolutely loved the "pint of bacon" appetizer, with 12 or so pieces of caramelized bacon served in a pint glass. Very nice.
Food was attractively priced. Beer pours were a tad on the expensive side.
Lots of good choices for beer in Raleigh now. Add this one to your list.

Now BREWMASTERS. Same great beer. i think I had a CBC Imperial IPA there in the last month. It was an Imperial and it was REALLY GOOD but I could not understand what the waitperson said due to some piercing I guess (?) Emphasis seems to be on the beer now but their menu seems to be a little over reaching and the cooks don't quite pull it off. A little far for me to go and forget trying to get there in rush hour traffic with downtown Raleighwood letting out. Paid parking spaces up and down the street and after 5pm, free (for now). Place is still a little rough inside and out and has a biker bar kinda feel so be warned.

Even though it is located on the well travelled corner of Martin St and Dawson St, Cherry Bomb is easy to miss since it does not have any sign indicating that they are there. The large red and green neon "Restaurant" sign from the previous business is still being used.
The atmosphere is really cool. It's like a rock n roll, custom hot-rod kind of vibe. The waitresses' costumes are of the 40's pin up girl variety which has been the trend on the west coast and Las Vegas for years now. They have a juke box which seemed to focus on hard rock, but I'd prefer that they put on satellite radio or Pandora to avoid the silence when the juke box wasn't being played. They have several LCD TV's that were dedicated to sports, which didn't really fit the atmosphere but what else are they really going to put on?
We did not eat or even look at a menu but the food that was brought out to other tables looked pretty good.
Now for the beer. The selection was outstanding. I'd say about 70 taps, and at least half were dedicated to North Carolina Micro Breweries. The rest of the taps were American Micro Brews except for about 10-12 that were imports. I did not notice anything in the BMC variety. No bottles yet but the waitress said the bottle selection was coming soon.
I'm not too sure how much the waitresses knew about the beer styles, etc, but I never asked. Hopefully Cherry Bomb Grill will get more in the way of seasonal, one-off, and special releases; but for opening weekend there was nothing to complain about.
Of all of the great beer bars we now have in downtown Raleigh, this place is top notch and will fall into my regular rotation of where I going out on the weekends.
