look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Pours a clear cola color capped by an inch or two of foam; a decent lacer

Smell: Brown bread, mocha, cinnamon and vanilla

Taste: Mocha and cinnamon, up front, with the brown bread flavors building in the background; by mid-palate, the vanilla appears and the coffee becomes more pronounced, though the finish is rather grainy

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Certainly flavorful, and I can see why some like this beer; for my palate, it is a bit too sweet and I am not loving the way the flavors come together

Pours dark Cola color with with light khaki 2 finger head that quickly fades but leaves behind good lacing.

Smell is rather faint and unassuming. Pick up mild cinnamon, vanilla, white bread, coffee, booze.

Taste- This years addition is very coffee forward on my palate. I pick up lingering cocoa & vanilla but the cinnamon is lost to me with this years addition.

Mouth is medium bodied with low carbonation. Very wet beer that coats the mouth well.

Overall I prefer this year's offering over lasts. I am a fan of coffee beers and this delivers. Last years collaboration was all cinnamon and molasses to me and simply too much to handle. In the 13 they've toned those flavors way down with the addition of coffee. Worth purchasing if a fan of coffee ales and you see it in the store; especially as it is a reasonably priced 1 off brew.

A 220z bomber. 2013 version appears to be similar or the same to the 2012.

A - Dark brown, with a touch of head and a bit of lace left on the glass.

S - Cinnamon, chocolate, coffee, and spices. A lot going on in the nose!

T - Like the smell, it is very complex. Cinnamon hits you 1st, then chocolate and spices in the end. Coffee is in there as well, but the vanilla is not as noticeable as last year.

M - Full bodied, and well carbonated. Oily and slick.

O - A good brew for sure, but I enjoyed last years better. But always good to have a reunion..

Poured a dark brown, practically blackish body, with decent head and lace patches down the glass. Aroma is a mix of dry, roasted coffee-esque malts along with chocolate and hints of vanilla. I find that the chocolate and coffee malts are dominant and balance with each other in the beer for a mix of sweet and dry tastes. Bitter, dark chocolate and possible dark fruits hit me on the finish of a bready, not so heavy beer that is easy to drink. nothing overpowers and this beer hits the coffee and chocolate stout notes and I really enjoyed it.

Appearance - Dark, not quite as dark as a porter. More like between a porter and a brown.
Smell - Dark cocoa and cinnamon. Hints of vanilla . Definitely chocolate malt in here!
Taste - Ditto the smell on the taste. Chocolate, cinnamon.
Mouthfeel - Has a great viscosity. Although it tastes rich like a porter, it's a bit thinner.
Overall - A great holiday beer. While the kids have a hot chocolate, this one's for you.

22oz brown bomber with a vintage date.

Dark brown hue shows some clarity, tiny bubbled lacing stay around for a while. Chocolate syrup, cinnamon, coffee grounds, vague vanilla, raisins, hint of alcohol, & toasted bread make up the aromatic nose. Full-ish body, smooth carbonation. Cinnamon first then coffee and then chocolate, vanilla is way in the back with some fruitiness and warming alcohol. Finishes semi-dry with lingering coffee and cinnamon.

A beer for a good cause so one should grab a bottle just for that purpose, flavors work so this is most certainly worth a try.

Just when I was wondering when I would be able to experience another brown ale worth shouting about, this Terrapin release appears. It has an absolutely wonderful taste with just enough coffee undertones makes this a big-time keeper. I love this beer's complexity. Get it now!

Deep reddish copper color was majestic, and the head formation was one finger thick, but it did not last long. The smell of the beer really highlighted the chocolate, and vanilla bean, while the cinnamon was more subtle, and the coffee was a mere hint. The taste was along the similar lines, with lots of chocolate and vanilla showing up, but cinnamon was more clear mid palette, and coffee bitterness was evident in the finish. The beer also had a touch of sour cherry in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel was silky and soft, but turned a little astringent towards the finish of the sip. This was more typical of a Schmaltz offering, rather than a Terrapin one, but it was still great.

Pours a deep tawny brown with a thinner but well sustained light beige head atop.Aromas of dark roast coffee and caramel with some mild fruitiness and nutty notes.Light to medium feel for a bigger beer with low carbonation wich is good.Flavors are rich and quite sweet but not overly so,vanilla/caramel and coffee flavors with some lighter chocolate and spiced notes, the fruitiness lingers along with some drying nuttiness in the finish.Flavor packed and alot going on,a malt licker would love this beer,Iam a hophead and really enjoyed it.

A: Poured from the bomber into a Sam Smith's imperial nonic-style pint glass. Body is brown with a half-finger khaki head on top. Leaves behind no real lace.

S: Like hazelnut coffee - I get toffee, hazelnuts and coffee. Lots of brewed coffee. Also something a bit "off," though I'm having a hard time pinning it down; think stale coffee, perhaps, and you're close.

T: First impression: coffee dominates again. Mouthfeel is noticeably thin. After a few sips and my palate has adjusted to the coffee, I'm able to pick out some other flavors. I get some brown bread, toast, hazelnuts and a touch of chocolate. I wouldn't really characterize this as an American Brown Ale, though to be honest I'm not sure what to call this. In many ways it's more porter-like than anything.

M: As noted above, it's thinner than expected. Call it medium in heft, but it feels lighter. Carbonation is quite active, a bit too fizzy.

O: Meh. I don't hate it, but I expected better. Too much of a one-trick-pony with all that coffee.

A- dark brown with a tan head which fades quickly after pouring

S- initial hint of fresh roasted coffee followed by milk chocolate

T- Initially very sweet like vanilla, taste on the back of the tongue is a very strong black coffee flavor, after taste is that of a bar of chocolate

M- slightly creamy with a medium level of carbonation. Heavier than a brown ale on the tongue, but not as chewy as a scotch ale, etc.

O- I have had several Reunion beers dating back to 2009, and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. This one lives up to its ingredients list, and the Jittery Joe's coffee really stands out, but is also balanced by the other flavors such as chocolate present in the beer.
