Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a 7venth Sun snifter.

A: Deep copper and nearly clear, with a half-finger's worth of off-white head and moderate visible carbonation.

S: Caramel and bready malts, sweetness in moderation, a touch of toffee and some booze heat. Less resinous sticky hops, some grass and hints of caraway.

T: Malt sweetness (biscuity and caramel), rye spiciness, resin sappy hops, grassy hops, and finishes with lingering malt sweetness and tingly hop bitterness.

M: Medium body for style, average carbonation sensation. The alcohol heat is noticeable, but doesn't rise to the level of being a distraction.

O: Not a bad "Triple IPA" as these things go, but not a favorite of mine. The rye character isn't as prominent as I'd expect, and the hops actually play second fiddle to the huge malt bill. A recipe with promise, but one that I'd prefer to be tweaked.

Pours a rich deep bronze with a billowing off white full one finger head that leaves two rings of broken lace as it settles into a frothy mass.Nutty malts some spicy rye and sweet caramel and alcohol in the nose.The palate is pretty sweet with sweet alcohol and brown sugar flavors,there is some sharp rye and leafy hops but the sweetness is just as big.It's big and brash and the sweetness can be a bit much but the rye and hops play a big role.Good but not great in my opinion.

Appears in the glass a crystal copper hue with a big off white cream khaki head looks beautiful. Fine even speckled lacing is left behind on the chalice it’s looking great.

Aroma big malt spicy rye and hops all day…alcohol almost brings a Rye Bourbon note to the nose with hints of vanilla and oak coming from pure malts/alcohol /rye additions…it’s great!

Flavor is huge waves of salty rye spicy malt additions with big hops and alcohol in the backend It’s like I’m sipping on a nice chilled glass of rye bourbon. Basil Hayden’s rye whiskey to be exact! Sultry with big alcohol and malt’s rye spice and hops come off earthy and huge in the backend imagine a barleywine that wants to put you into submission…that’s Rye Cubed!

Mouthfeel is full bodied from front to back of the palate even mellow carbonation honest to god it feels like sipping bourbon on the palate hot in all the right ways!!! A bit of hot alcohol but I forgive this beer, it’s doing what it wants to do as a Triple Rye India Pale Ale.

Overall, this beer sets out to do what it wants to do without asking any questions. It slaps you around in an abusive way yet still remains likeable that’s a hard path to head down.

Poured out of my bottle into a belgian glass to see this beer's copper color and nice lacing;

The nose is resinous and woodsy;

Taste is malty sweetness with a touch of spice and a lasting finish. Can't necessary pick up the high gravity aspect in the taste, but the sweetness indicates that it's likely.

Tasty beer overall.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Burley Oak snifter (Vintage 2014, 6/10/2015 best by date I assume. 14172-[1A]?)

A: Crystal clear ruby amber body with almost no lacing, a wisp of bubbles constituting the leftovers of a head.

S: Lots of sweet malt with that noticeable tang of rye on the side. I don't get a lot of hops outside a resinous sweetness.

T: Rye for the most part with a sweetness throughout it. Delicious but the rye is really paired with the malt, having only the rye beat it out by a bit. It is quite sweet which may put some off, but I find it to be pretty great. The alcohol in here is blended in right with the rye and sweetness of it. A bit of a resinous aftertaste, but it isn't too sticky, not lingering long.

M: Smooth with a bit of a sharp bite to it.

O: This is quite delicious and a big beer. Good stuff from Terrapin again. Love me some rye beers, especially Rye IPAs.

A: Pours a clear reddish-brown with a finger of cream head that fades into a frothy ring with a little lacing.

S: Lot of caramel malt with vanilla, some cotton candy-like notes, and light citrus and pine hop aromas.

T: Strong caramel malt presence here as well with vanilla, grapefruit, and resinous pine hop flavors. The finish is both sweet and lightly bitter.

M: Medium body with lowish carbonation, this beer is sticky and oily feeling.

O: A solid beer, overall, though without much complexity and not as hoppy as I'd like.
