2007 Bottle, many thanks to Lothore for the chance to try it. Poured into a Russian River pint glass... again thanks to Lothore! :)
A - Tan 1 finger head, dark red/amber... beautiful color.
S - Piney hops, caramel malt, slight alcohol twinge. Really smells tasty.
T - Surprisingly malty. I can see where they're going with this. Perhaps a brand new bottled sample, or a draft offering would've yielded a stronger hop profile. Nice toasty malt and warming alcohol. Not remarkable, but nothing offensive. It's more of a big malty monster.
M - Pretty much perfect mouthfeel, good thickness, carbonation is on point.
D - It's abv is up there, but the taste is pretty well rounded, though I can't imagine drinking more than three in a sitting.
