G311 is the man! Thanks for the bottle Vince.
The color is darker than expected, more in the way of crimson or marron than amber or red. Tall tann-ish head holds up nicely.
The nose is full of caramel apple, bready and sweet malts, floral and earthy hops. THis kinda reminds me of a marzen or oktoberfeston steriods.
THe taste is sweet upfront, rich and malty backbone with some alcohol heat on the finish. A good deal of earthy bitterness is also present along with a healthy dose of bread/biscuit.
Medium bodied brew with a moderate level of Co2 and an overall smooth texture.
I am not sure just how old this bottle is, and I do like the beer, however I feel like it does NOT quite live up to it's name. Very tasty? yes. Strong, yet drinkable? yes. BUT the hops are a bit understated.
