Bottle into a C&B Bruges snifter.
A - Pours rather thick and viscous and is dark amber, almost brownish color and a tad murky. One fingers worth of a creamy, tan color head the receded rather quickly leaving some nice lacing behind.
S - The smell is surprisingly sweet and malty. Brown sugar, caramel, toffee, and stone fruits. This beer reminds me of a Belgian triple or a light barley wine in the sweetness it presents. Zero hop presence. Yet to find out what makes this a "Hoppy Monster."
T - Ooooh, this is unusual. The sweet maltiness comes secondary to the hop forward taste, rather it starts of super hoppy, mostly pine and resin and finishes sweet and malty.
M - Medium to full bodied and rather creamy and chewy. Decent carbonation.
D - This is a very interesting beer. Although not what i was expecting, it was a wonderful and surprising mix of malt and hops. It is a very drinkable beer that hides the fairly high ABV well and i will welcome this again if i am lucky enough to find it.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a nice looking bronzed orange color with a decent one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing that slid into the beer. The aroma had some grapefruity/citrusy notes that lent a decent amount of pine entering in as it warmed. The taste had a nice sweet citrusy aspect running over my taste buds. On the palate, this one sat at/about a nice light to medium in body. It proved itself to be somewhat sessionable. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but not overbearing. Overall, I say this was a decent DIPA.

As others have said, this is a very good beer. The malt flavor and sugar flavor and mild hops really mix into a very complex and multi-layered beer. Mouthfeel is wonderful. I would definitely buy this again. Worth a try. Overall: a great job.
