A: Definitely doesn't pour like a typical amber. It pours a chocolaty brown with a finger of tan head. Head retention is fairly good and it leaves a nice lacing on the glass.
S: Some caramel malt with dark fruits up front like raisins up front followed by some pine hop aromas.
T: Similar to the smell, there's a blast of caramel malt and dark fruit up front. Then the hops kick in, providing a good amount of pine with some bitterness in the aftertaste. The sweet malt also sticks around in the aftertaste.
M: Medium body with some light-medium carbonation.
D: This drinks more like a light barleywine than an amber ale. This bottle might have some age on it, which could contribute to that. Goes down very smooth with a nice mix of malt and hops.
