A: Pours crystal clear with a nice three finger head. Very little carbonation from the looks of it. Kind of an amber-copper color. Leaves a good lacing down the sides.
S: Lots of sweetness in the nose, paired with a little bit of hops. Tough to get over the malt smell in here. Cant really distinguish any unique characteristics. A bit of alcoholic smell comes out as it warms.
T: I had my first of these at a kegger and I was ripped. I remeber it as being harsh and high in alcohol. Wow does sobriety help fine beer. A rich beer, while it is very sweet, I taste biscuit or maybe a mild toasty malt. A little hop spicyness, decently balanced with the excessive grain bill. Really cant taste the rye, which I was hoping for but a pretty damn good taste nontheless.
M: Loses points here, the alcohol makes it syrupy and needs to be a bit more carbonated. Silky, but I dont think the body should feel that way with this style. Meh this is the only really bad part of the beer and this is what keeps me from drinking another.
D: Other than the mouthfeel I mentioned earlier this is a well done beer. I do kinda like how the alcohol is mildy present, but not dominant. I can see this being addicting.
