Ah, spring. The trees start blooming, the pollen turns all the cars yellow, and Terrapin puts out Rye Squared.
Pours a nice, clear orange-amber with a somewhat thick head that falls to a medium-sized ring.
Familiar DIPA aromas. Citrus rind, pine, and caramel sweetness. Just a little rye spiciness.
Flavors mirror the aromas pretty closely but with the rye becoming more obvious than in the aroma. Also, quite boozy.
Sticky, resiny mouthfeel.
Nicely drinkable, but only 1 or 2 is all you need, unless you don't plan on driving anywhere.
Great beer for early spring when the weather isn't too warm or cold yet. I always look forward to this release and will have to get more while I can.
