app - deep gold or pale amber color, good clarity. Pours a fairly large white head, tightly bubbled and fairly good with retention for a strong beer.
smell - solventy, pine hop aroma, sweet malt as well. Some citrus. More candy sweet as it warms.
Taste - Big malt and hop flavors from the start. No sharp hop bitterness, but lots of hop flavor. A little alcohol mixing in to the flavor midmouth. Has a semblance of balance - not sickly sweet at the beginning, and not an IBU bomb at the end.
MF - Big body and light-medium carbonation. A bit of creaminess with the thick body and modest carbonation. Alcohol warming is quite nice.
D'ability - Above average for a beer in this style. I'm tossing back my tasting sample pretty quickly, and wishing I had more than just a single bottle of it.
