it looks good = copper color with a decent head and lacing.
smell = loads of alcohol and sweet with a touch of citrus and roast. if you like BIG beers, this one is good, with a bit of a malty rye twist.
taste = the taste is good, but a bit too sweet. something needs to be dialed back to make it balanced...that is, if they want it balanced. the alcohol is obvious as well, very obvious...a little too much.
mouthfeel = hop oils there. also can feel the water used. both feels are present, yet not unified. good, not great. i would expect the mouthfeel to be better on tap offerings.
drinkability = drink one...after drinking other beers of your choice. there is so much here, maybe too much. don't get me wrong, i love big beers, but i would rather drink two terrapin rye pale ales.
this one is good, but i prefer hop rod rye and lenny's ripa.
