Reviewed from notes. Poured from bomber into a CCB pint glass.
A: Very, very dark brown to black. A finger of tan head forms but fades quickly. No visible carbonation, but that may be due to the darkness and opacity.
S: Dark cacao, roasted chocolate malts, some thin brown malt aroma, and a bit of sweet mocha.
T: Big cacao, milk chocolate, brown malt sweetness…and that's about it. Not terribly complex to say the least. It's sweet but with a mouth-drying flavor, like licking baker's chocolate.
M: Thin body for a porter. Lots of carbonation sensation and low alcohol presence.
O: Again, it's not complex at all. That and the relatively thin body are my biggest complaints. But this still remains a fairly enjoyable beer overall.
