Although this is a pumpkin beer, it is a lager and therefore doesn't belong in the pumpkin ale category. Originally a Side Project, now a Fall seasonal in six-packs.

Drank on a rainy day in Georgia.
A - Dark copper with a thin ring of creamy tan foam. Lively carbonation, minimal lacing.
S - Whew! Smells like a spicy pumpkin pie. Tons of cinnamon and nutmeg. Sweet malts.
T - Spot-on with the nose, tastes like liquid pumpkin pie. Bit of spicy ginger in the finish helps give an extra dimension I wasn't expecting.
M - Nice prickly carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Surprisingly crisp for a pumpkin beer, I would have expected it to be more syrupy.
D - Very solid pumpkin beer, 2nd only to DFH Punkin' as my favorite. Really wish I would have been able to try this fresh, may have easily been my favorite. Can't wait for Fall to get here so I can get some more pumpkin beers!

From notes9/10/12: Pours a clear reddish orange with 1 finger of beige, variously bubbled, somewhat lasting head that leaves a patchy and filmy ring of lacing. Aroma is vegetal, thin caramel malt, pumpkin pie with modest cinnamon, cloves and ginger. As with a number of pumpkin ales there is something about the smell that is slightly reminiscent of a flat "Dr. Pepper". Taste is buttery pie crust, caramel malt, pumpkin and the same modest spiciness of the nose but if anything thinner, especially the cloves with the ginger and cinnamon being more dominant. The pumpkin is there but also subdued. There is little or no hop presence but this may be masked by the spices. The dry finish is more ginger and cinnamon prominent with the cinnamon dominating the very dry and chalky aftertaste. My guess is this is lager and not an ale. Drinkability is higher than similar spice heavy pumpkin ales.

From the bottom of the can: "16370-75.5 2.9.17 0523"
Appearance: Right off the bat I notice the huge creamy eggshell colored head. The body is a tawny brown with a good dose of orange. Very good clarity and head retention.
Aroma: There is a light pumpkin pie spice aroma with an emphasis on clove. There is a bit of a hoppy flowery aroma as well.
Taste: Right off I notice this strong sourness and it has this cranberry jelly spread across toast flavor. It has a good flavor but the pumpkin and spices are lost in the background. The cranberry flavor is great in this beer.
Mouthfeel: It has a nice smooth medium body that is easy to drink and has just the texture you would want to match the flavor. The finish lingers at the end and tails off slowly.
Overall: As a pumpkin beer it falls short because it doesn't deliver the experience you would probably expect. However the cranberry is wonderful and that toast character is great as well. It tastes like a thanksgiving dinner. Don't buy it if you want a pumpkin beer but I would recommend picking it up on its own merit.

Clear amber pour wit garnet tint. World class head volume, lacing and retention.
Very light nose of mild pumpkin and spice.
Light medium body with a smooth texture. Normal carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice prickly burst in the finish.
The flavor profile is good, but rather weak. Light pumpkin, light spice (so light I can't tell what it is), a hint of bitterness and a subtle sweetness that proves a very good balance. The finish is a slow fade of spiced pumpkin.

11/10...bottle. Pours medium copper amber with with light white foam that sits on top. Nicely spiced pumpkin nose, nutmeg too. Taste is a clean crisp, pumpkin laced lager. Chewy mouthfeel and an easy finish. Simple and flavorful. Perfect for someone's first pumpkin beer.
