Had on-tap at Jax in Florida.

A- Bright and clear golden body wit ha good 2-finger white head that stays for a while and leaves some very sticky lace.

S- Smell is big on piney hops at first followed by a nice mango/grapefruit citrus aroma. Some sweet breadiness comes through in the end.

T- Big bitter bite up front which almost deadens the palate, but the piney and citrusy hop flavors are able to show through no problem. Again, a little malt sweetness is there, but lightly.

MF- Nice full body, but crisp at the same time. Good amount of carbonation let the flavors coat the mouth and make it last. (605 characters)

Underwhelming in a crowded ipa market. Hop profile is muddled; nothing cohesive about how hops were put together. Nose nothing special. Just ok. (144 characters)

Received this as an extra in a trade and was really impressed. This is a great IPA for those who don't want theirs too bitter as it has a touch of sweetness to it. A great IPA for a hot summers day (197 characters)

Best by: 12.19.14. Drank 11.13.14. 12oz bottle poured into a Mason Jar pint.

A: Pours a hazy bright orange with two fingers of bright, billowing head. Lots of big pitting, small patches of lacing, dissipates to a few small islands and a high collar. A fair amount of suspended particulates. Light visible carbonation.

S: Earthy, metallic, traces of what could resemble hops... but nowhere near enough to get past the grunge/yeastiness/biscuity aroma. Awful for an IPA, and to be frank, awful for any beer style.

T: Weak. Little to no clarity. Pepper and Earth. Bready malt, toasted biscuit... once again, awful.

M: Watery and bitter. Not much carbonation, dull to taste. Lingering earthy bitterness reminds me of how awful this smells and tastes well after I last went though those painful endeavors.

O: An incredible disappointment from a beer which I didn't even have high hopes for, just that it would be a decent regional IPA to drink in the Southeast. But this is not even close, not by a long shot. I'm giving a 2 all around for effort.

Maybe I had an infected bottle, but unless someone one day hands me this beer, I will not be having it again. (1,158 characters)

Average brew. Wish it had more hops as it's called the hopsecutioner but they are there just not as much for a seasoned hop head. (129 characters)

Poured into a standard pint a mix of a burnt orange-like and alighter amber shade,a thinner wispy head that was gone pretty quickly atop.Big grapefruit in the nose with some apricot,a toasted malt notes sticks out as well.A little prickly in the mouth wich surprised me a little, flavors are more of a rounded hop flavor than an in your face hop punch, grapefruit and tropical fruit flavors with a hint of leafy/mint,a toasted lightly sweet caramel base holds up into the finish.Really nice flavors with a different sort of hop profile, pretty good. (546 characters)

Pours a golden-straw color, very mild amount of haze, translucent with a slightly off-white head; big and bubbly, creamy and lasting with nice lacing on the sides of the glass. Upon first whiff, the hop profile smells pretty nice; perfume, spicy, white pepper, roses, florals, and a slight earthy, citrus-peel sweetness that sneaks into the background. First taste isn't quite as bitter I was expecting, though not necessarily a bad thing. The first thing I notice a slight peppery, ashy hop flavor, a touch floral and earthy. Alcohol flavor comes out halfway through. More peppery and herbal hobs flow through the palate on the way down. Slight bread and biscuit malt backbone for the hops to stand on but not too much else from that side of the spectrum. The outro is full of that warming alcohol presence with a decrescendo of spicy hop flavor with a finishing touch of dry malt and a bit of yeast. Medium body, just outside the range of being sticky on the palate, somewhat dry finish, low-medium carbonation.

Nice spicy, peppery hop profile leads me to believe the type of hops were Central European. A decent IPA and easily drinkable even with the alcohol being a prominent role in the flavor department. (1,211 characters)

Serria Nevada Hopsecutioner 7.3% alcohol poured from 12.oz bottle to snifter.

A- Pours a copper colored fluid that produces a small off white head that falls to a froth and leaves mild lacing behind.

S- Smell is mostly floral hops with a light roasted malt background.

T-M- Taste is of lightly bitter hops with undertones of sweet caramel malts followed by a smooth hop tingle on the tongue. Mouthfeel is good with nothing more than smooth flavor rolling over the buds.

Overall this is a good beer to go all night with and enjoy all its charactoristics in mass quantities. (576 characters)

A - Lackluster off white head, very few bubbles, nice amber color, and quite bright.

S - Lots of hop aroma mainly citrus but with a bit of fruit also. Sweet malts with the citrus and fruit aromas almost remind me of a nectar.

T - Much like the smell with the citrus fruit, a bit of sweetness, but also a touch of toasted malts in there with a bit of breadiness.

M - Good, but could use a bit more carbonation to clean it up. Although I don't think the body is too heavy, it comes across a bit syrupy with the sweetness and lack of carbonation.

O - A very nice IPA, hope to be able to enjoy again. (600 characters)

Notes from 7/2012

Best by second week of December (assuming 2012?)

A - Pours clear amber with one finger of off-white head. Head has decent retention and leaves good lacing.

S - Aroma is pretty subtle, but there is some citrus, mostly orange.

T - Surprisingly malty for what seems to be a fresh bottle. Hops are quite subtle, though there is a good hop bite initially, it fades quickly, yielding to a tea-like flavor. Not really digging this, but it is ok.

M - Medium mouthfeel and slightly bitter. Not very memorable.

O - It certainly doesn't seem like a year-old bottle, so I have to assume this is a relatively fresh bottle that just doesn't live up to it's name. (672 characters)
