Cloudy, honey gold SRM 5-6. I am quite surprised to see small chunks of yeast floating inside an Anderson Valley can glass. The half-inch creamy head quickly drops, leaving a light coating of lace. I am no fan of floaters in an IPA.
Bread dough and slight hop aromas. Some cut straw and musk.
Modest bitterness is balanced by sweetness. Caramel, nuts and faint kiwi are noticed up front. Grapefruit comes out in the middle through finish. The finish is moderately long and yeasty. Orange flavors come out with warmth.
This is a medium-to-full-bodied beer with a smooth texture and prickly carbonation.
Terrapin has not quite delivered on “Hopsecutioner”. Getting beyond the name, however, it is a relaxing beer. Perhaps my bottle is older, however, it’s difficult to say since the best by chart was blank.

Pours a reddish copper color with a nice 2 finger head that takes it time leaving in a 20oz pub glass leaving really great lacing down the glass.
Smell is pretty outstanding. I really get the earthy hops with malts in the background.
Taste is great as well. Way more malt than I was expecting from a beer called hopsecutioner. The malts tell the story for me. Has a taste of caramel to them and the hops kinda play second fiddle. I definitely get the earthy hops but not as much as I expected.
Mouthfeel is pretty spot on. Really liked the way it has a nice presence throughout the taste.
Overall, a really great beer. I really like this and plan to make it more of a go to.
