Hopsecutioner pours hazy straw into the tulip with a foaming inch of head that disappears with some oily residue in its wake. The hoppy aroma of the beer is really its strongest point: rich astringent grassy-to-citrus nose with a touch of rich malt that smells balanced.
Taste is medicinal bitterness that is somehow a little off from the nose, but not unpleasant. The finish is not very long or complex, but a nicely hopped ale.
Mouthfeel is a bit light for the alcohol content and hop load.
I'm confused by the labels: the Terrapin is almost a Teenage Mutant Ninja, but dressed as executioner. The country-boy Terrapin of the Rye ale: marketing is a little off to me, but what do I know. I'm not from Georgia but just passing through Atlanta. Label reports the beer was brewed at Flying Dog.

Pours a reddish copper color with a nice 2 finger head that takes it time leaving in a 20oz pub glass leaving really great lacing down the glass.
Smell is pretty outstanding. I really get the earthy hops with malts in the background.
Taste is great as well. Way more malt than I was expecting from a beer called hopsecutioner. The malts tell the story for me. Has a taste of caramel to them and the hops kinda play second fiddle. I definitely get the earthy hops but not as much as I expected.
Mouthfeel is pretty spot on. Really liked the way it has a nice presence throughout the taste.
Overall, a really great beer. I really like this and plan to make it more of a go to.
