Drinks like a session beer but packs a little punch with the 7+% ABV. It's bitter and fresh. Can has an expired date of 2/26/16, so it's pretty fresh. Drinking it ice cold in a beer glass and it has a quarter inch head on pouring, dirty white colored and it leaves a spider web lacing along the glass and the head dissipates the farther south the beer goes. I love this beer and it is one of my mainstays for any old weekend. Readily available in my area (middle GA) and a great beer I like to share with my friends around a fire pit. For price, taste and availability, this IPA is hard to beat.

Enjoyed from the 12 oz can in a pint glass via a friend from work---THANKS BRYAN!
This excellent IPA pours a nice medium amber with a fantastic head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thick, layer, and supreme lacing. Nose of citrus, pine, herbal, and bittering hops mixed with copious amounts of sweet caramel. Flavors follow the nose with sweet malts to the fore that awash mid palate towards citrus notes of pineapple. Flavors fade into a honey and tea drenched pine note with a herbal blast of hops in the background and on the aftertaste. VERY unique with medium carbonation and a sweet and bitter hops flavor on the aftertaste. Overall, one of the best IPA's I have had to date, although could easily pass for a DIPA.

Super strong with lots of hops! One of my fav IPAs it's basically a douple IPA. The tartness of citrus hops is well balanced and it packs a punch at about 7% by volume, this is a beer that I drink year round very tasty!

On tap at Stoney's on L in DC. Maybe it was an old line, but I didn't care for this one. Look was a nice deep Amber, but no hops in the nose, and just a general bitter hops. No juicy, no citrus, no brightness. Malts were muddled, an the finish was odd. Just not for me

Appearance is golden-copper, transparent, head is light with fine sized bubbles, nice lacing along the glass.

Smell is subdued malt and light pine, hops come through quickly, slightly spicy with some orange.

Taste is fairly simple malt, caramel, then quickly overtaken by the subtle but bitter hop flavors which are lightly spicy with hints of pine, some citrus/orange on the finish

Mouthfeel is creamy, the bitterness comes through more so than from the aroma, which is nicely balanced by the malt sweetness.

Overall, a solid IPA, slightly subdued aroma with good balance and mouth presence.

Decent brew that was on sale at the local Bucket Trade. I originally bought this because of the art on the front. I'd review this beer a little more in depth but I think spacecake9 nailed it. Interesting citrusy flavors but not something I would run back to buy again.

Tasting from my DFH IPA glass.
A - Pours an almost clear golden orange color with a 2 finger head that settles to a cap.
S - Aroma is hops, malt and a little citrus.
T - Flavor is sweet malt, just a hit of grapefruit and a little bitterness.
M - Medium carbonation, a little creamy.
O - Flavor is straight down the middle, no outstanding features, just very drinkable.

Poured into a straight pint glass: color is copper, transparent, head is light tan with medium and fine sized bubbles, nice lacing along the glass.

Smell is subdued malt, toast and caramel; hops come through quickly as light pine, earthy, slightly spicy.

Taste is fairly simple malt, light toast and caramel, then quickly overtaken by the subtle but bitter hop flavors which are earthy, lightly spicy and hints of pine.

Mouthfeel is fairly bitter, but this beer seems to have higher bitterness from the hops than aroma or flavor which is nicely balanced by the malt sweetness.

Overall, a solid IPA, slightly subdued aroma with a nice flavor and mouth presence.

On tap. In a pint glass, the beer was an amber color. There was a good tan head with a ton of lace.

Sweet fruit aroma, a bit of citrus.

Tropical fruit taste, just a hint of grapefruit.

Nice beer, not too hoppy.

On tap at a sports bar in Atlanta, Georgia. Sampled on September 22, 2015. This review is prepared from notes.

It pours into the 16 oz. pint glass a medium amber color with a quick lasting head.

Big floral and fruit aromas highlight this with a mild roasted caramel underneath those forward hops.

The body is medium and smooth

Muted malt taste with a big bitterness to wrap it all up at the finish.

Bottle best by 12.6.15. Poured into Monday Night pint glass. Hazy golden orange in color with a bubbly white head. Carb bubbles on the bottom of the glass that sporadically rise to the surface. Thick spots lace to the glass. Smell is slight pine with citrus notes and bready a bit. Taste is metallic with some pine, citrus and lemon backed with malt. Not a lot of carbonation and slick feel. Good beer but would much rather have a Sweetwater IPA or Hop Dang Diggity. Cheers!

The smell is sweet bready spicy and earthy. The taste is nice and smooth and well balanced. The finish starts out slightly sweet and then the bitterness takes over. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and slippery. nb

Best By date of 12/18/15
Pours a slightly burnt orange.
Smells of muted hops. There is a pine and citrus battle going on in the smell and it results in an 'ehhh' smell.
The taste is sweet pine and that's not a good thing. The fight between the different hops continue into the taste as it's not completely piney and dank and not completely sweet and citrusy. The taste is muddled and confusing. The feel of the body is full for the style and the carbonation moves the flavors across the palette in an orderly fashion. The aftertaste borders on cloying. There are much better shelf DIPAs out there.

Can purchased at The Beerbox in Norfolk, VA.

This one pours an orange-ish amber, with a small head, and a few spotty segments of lacing.

This one smells like sweet malt, piney hops, and orange marmalade.

This is a fairly malty IPA, really, which kinda makes the name misleading. There's some sweet caramelly malt, a bit too much really, with kind of a generically bitter hop profile. There's definitely pine, and maybe a little orange, but the hops don't seem to stand out in a nice way, really.

This has a crisp mouthfeel, medium body, with a moderate level of carbonation.

Not bad, but not really that great either. Forgettable for sure.

Hopsecutioner is a slightly hazy, pale amber beer that sports a thick, lingering fluffy just-a-bit-off-white head that leaves moderate amounts of lacing. Its nose is big: mostly pineapple, resinous pine and floral notes, with lesser amounts of bright citrus and some boozy undertones. Up front, the palate is bitter pineapple and citrus; by midpalate a slightly-toasted, slightly-sweet bready malt foundation shows through, balancing the flavor through the end; the hops flavor broadens to include the pine and floral notes from the nose. The finish is quite clean, with just a hint of pine left behind; this is quickly joined by a moderate hoppy bitterness that lingers a few moments. Mouthfeel is a bit bigger than might be expected from the light/medium body, and the texture is creamy and smooth. This is a very well-balanced, drinkable IPA. Overall it's a good beer, but I was left slightly underwhelmed. Small foam head with a light amber color. Getting much more of a malt aroma than hops, this struck me as odd given the name of the beer. Almost smelled like more of a lager, which was interesting. Taste is malt forward with some pine and slight citrus.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Kona pint glass. L: Orange gold with no head to speak of and no lacing.
S: sweeter than I would like an IPA to be.
T: like it smells. Very sweet and malty. Kind of confusing considering the name suggests it's gonna kill me with hops.
F: light and bubbly. Very drinkable.
O: not something I would fill my limited fridge space at home with, but if I saw it on tap when out, I would consider drinking it again.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a tiny dash of haze and a strong effervescence. Head is a finger of creamy ivory foam. Quite attractive!

Smell: dank, earthy hops mixed in with a very sweet malt base. It's not quite cloying, but it's getting dangerously close.

Taste: much like the aroma, there are dank, earthy hops and a rather sweetish malt base. There is a relatively strong bitterness here that helps to edge out the sweetness of the malt, but overall the effect is kind of murky. Not bad, but just not very focused.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess. Not too bad.

Overall: not a bad beer, although not one I'd seek out again.

Appearance – This is a beautiful golden orange in color with a head that came up nicely but didn’t show much stamina.

Smell – The nose here is light but evenly balanced. Hops are rindy orange and the malt a bit grainy.

Taste – The flavor is balanced if uninspiring. The grainy malt takes over here and although it’s not bad it just doesn’t suit the style. The hops abandoned ship.

Mouthfeel – This was a huge disappointment. The ale if very thin and dull.

Drinkability – I made it through this one but won’t buy again.

Comment – I find that whenever I rate a beer whereby all five scores are different that means it is all over the place and that is definitely the case with this one.

Pibt glass. Very sticky head, frothy and firm. Beautiful golden amber color, perfectly clear. Smell was a little dissapointing. Hoppy, but not much else. Taste is strong on hops, piny but not too piny, not grassy or floral. Overall very solid ipa not my favorite but Id buy it again.

Tasted on August 12, 2015 in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 oz bottle labeled 12.8.15. Look is clear deep gold, medium head that fades to nothing and little to no lacing. Smell is dank, resin, citrus, pine and a very slight hint of caramel. Taste is earthy, resinous, and citrusy with hints of sweet malt. Feel is medium in body and dry in the finish.

Amber color with decent head, smells of caramel malts, with an underlying fruitiness and notes of piney hops. A bit too malt forward for my liking, I prefer my IPA's to have a little more "oomph", but tasty and solid nonetheless.

A very nice golden amber color, thick white head. Smells very hoppy with a hint of malts. Tastes almost like how it smells, very hoppy, can't really taste any malt.
