Bottled Date: best by 3/3/11.
Appearance: Poured tea like, head was very minimal and almost non-existent throughout drink. Carbonation levels very low.
Smell: more hop presence than anything else, though you could definitely pick up the rye.
Taste: kind a strange at first if you have never had an Rye beer. Starts out tasting exactly like a hoppy cup of tea. Moreso than being spicy the Rye gives it more of a Tea taste. After a couple of sips I started to get used to this taste and actually quite enjoyed it.
Overall: Carbonation definitely needs ramped up because right after this one, I had Terrapin Hopsecutioner and no carbonation problems in that beer. I don't think Rye beers are for everyone but this one grew on me. Would have again.

On tap, beautiful copper clear color, thin head faded fast, good lacing though. Carbonation just right
Peachy aroma, fruity esters with hops present seemed just right for a local pale ale
Nice mild to medium hop taste. Nothing overwhelming, very balanced
Dry hoppy attack. Nice finish. Easy to drink
Overall I liked it, and I am not a hophead

Pours copper orange with some creamy head and good lacing.
Smells sweet, soapy and floral with some tropical fruit coming through.
Tropical fruit, peach and citrus up front, with some rye spice following close behind. Pretty full body for the style and more sweetness than is typical in an APA. This is my last bottle of the sixer and I've also noted some bitter, metallic off-notes at times. Sort of coppery. But for the most part it's just pleasantly juicy and hoppy, although a bit big in body to have more than one or two of.
