Poured from a big bottle into my Terrapin pint glass.
Appearance: It's spot-on with the color: that hoppy, hazy golden we all love. Unfortunately, the head is very thin, with poor lacing. It looks sadly thin. The color goes a long way to making up for these faults, though.
Smell: Floral hops, somewhat tempered and not overpowering.
Taste: Despite the alcoholic strength, this is a surprisingly easygoing beer. There's just the right amount of bitterness; the taste of the hops is the focus here. What maltiness there is is very subdued. With a name like 'Hopzilla', I really expected something much more brazen than this, but it's enjoyable.
Mouthfeel: A little thin, as indicated by the appearance, but not too watery.
Drinkability: The two areas above make this incredibly easy to drink. You might find yourself taking big swigs, as I am. That's ok. I don't think Terrapin were going for subtlety with this beer, so feel free to chug away. Just beware: the 10.8% alcohol content IS lurking in here, somewhere.
