Oured from a bomber into my trusty Sam Adams perfect pint. Pours a dark / golden brown. Smell is not too strong. Small amounts of floral. No citrus. Taste is spot on for a fresh hop. Not overpowering in the hop department but enough hop presence to make it satisfying for the hop lover. Well carbonated and easily drinkable.

A good beer.

Poured into an imperial pint glass a slight hazed copper /bronze with a nice tight formed one finger white head, some faint pine and light toasted caramel malt notes in the nose,a little tame in my opinion.First thing I noticed when drinking is the near watery feel to the beer,it took away from the flavors, mild pine and citrus hop flavors meld with a biscuity malt base with neither really getting the upper hand.Eh this is not one of the better fresh hop ales out there, its not horrific its just a little to simple I think.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. I wanted to get my hand on this one when it first came out finally found it just wish I could have had it fresh.

A: Poured a murky amber with a small tan head that dissipated quickly.

S: Little to no Hop smell came through to me, but a lot of maltyness.

T: Taste was the same as smell very little to no Hop flavor. I am hoping this is due to the fact that this was a little on the old side by the time I found it.But the malty flavor that came through was very smooth and tasty.

M: A medium bodied smooth drinking beer that was a little heavy on carbonation.

O: I wish I could have tasted this fresh cause I probably would have tasted a completely different beer, but that is what I get for buying an IPA that was released about 8 months ago. Just couldn't pass up a Terrapin Beer that made reference to Outkast.

This beer has a deep amber color with foamy, but quickly dissolving head. Good lacing. As for the smell, hops are evidently there, but they're not terribly overwhelming. Some citrus. Taste-wise, I was expecting a little more pizzazz. There's a muted bitterness to this medium bodied beer, but it didn't blow me away. In my opinion its still a slightly above average IPA, maybe good for a change of pace every once in a while, but nothing that would drag me away from my current favorites.

2012 Citra Hops
Served in a mug.

A - Clear copper color very little head that dissipated immediately.

S - Strong citrus with a hint of pine

T - Good taste strong citrus hops with a bitter finish, almost too bitter, as you would expect from an IPA very slight hint of alcohol at the end.

M - Light feel slightly flat.

O - Overall a pretty good IPA. Very strong citrus hops which is what Terrapin intended. I felt that the overall flavor could have been better balance. Worth a try.

I feel like I am being overly generous with my review of this obviously apparent heavy malt backbone "ipa" seeing that it is only slightly hoppier than most british IPA's. The smell is extremely lacking in an IPA that I would suggest nor imbibe religiously while the taste is like that of a false nutty caramel. Overall, very disappointed with this 'ipa' from what I have come to expect from Terrapin Brewing.

Deep copper ruby hue with a bright white head forming thick and leaves behind fine speckled lacing going down the sides of the glass. Aroma has pine, citrus, mildly minty hops. Not overtly hoppy but a nice green minty/pine/citric finish that doesn't overpower is found between waves of caramel hops within this beer. Sugar coated malts exist here lying between layers of sugary caramel malts and green vinous layers of fresh hops. I get tones of mint/herbs/and citric pine hop accents, this is no big hop character like a west coast IPA but it's a nice consistent vegetable green flavor going down. Full of chlorphyll flavor with a mild caramel malt content booze are hidden well. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied carbonation is even nothing to write home about. Drinkability is solid go for it, drink while it is still fresh.

On-tap at the Brick Store.

Pours a clear light copper color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.

Smells of pale malts with large amounts of herbal hops and lighter amounts of earthy and light citrus notes.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Moderately dry pale malt flavors kick things off and quickly give way to equal amounts of herbal and earthy hop flavors. Midway through the sip slight amounts of light citrus and leafy notes join in, carrying through to a solidly bitter and somewhat dry ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with smooth carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I finished my glass without a problem and could have another.

Overall this wasn't a spectacular beer but I thought it was well-balanced and did a nice job of showcasing earthy and herbal hop aromas and flavors. Worth a shot.

First growler pour into a standard pint glass. Body is a nice orange / copper color with 2 fingers of head that leaves nice lacing behind. A nice combination of citrus and pine hop aromas, does smell quite fresh as you'd expect. Tastes follows inline with the nose, just not as strong (unfortunately). Its tasty, just not as citrusy as the smell led me to believe. Medium bodied, plenty of carbonation, and easy drinking. It was nice to try this one, but not quite as flavorful as other fresh hop beers Ive tried.

Pours a look typical for the style, with a slightly hazed copper-orange-rust liquid sporting healthy bubble motion that feeds a fluffy off-white head. Lace sticks then slides immediately down the wall of the glass, with only a little of it sticking permanently.

Unsurprisingly for a fresh hop beer, the smells is fragrant, perfume-like, crisp, clean, breezy, pine-laden, pithy, citrus-rind goodness.

The taste is just what you might expect, being an extremely clean, breezy dose of hop-forward flavor, dangling somewhere between lemon rind and evergreen tips. Malt is quite subtle, having the mildness of a water cracker, present and pleasing but very much in a supporting role. It is to the hops what the cracker is to the pungent Roquefort cheese. Pretty dry and not much left in the finish other than a quick flash of lemon/lime zest.

Feel is tingly from carbonation but tempered by a medium body with just a tad of stick to it. Round enough, smooth enough, nice enough.

What's the problem? Seems this one is a little underrated. It's no hop bomb, but c'mon, "fresh hop" does not equal "hop bomb." It performs as advertised, no more and no less. Had they bulked up the malt a bit, we would have had something a little heartier, but then it would have lost as much as it has gained in being a true "fresh hop" flavor. I like, I like.

Pour: deep burnt orange. Well constructed tan head breaks down slowly. Light effervescence.

Nose: light malt clean citrus notes as nuance. Little cream.

Mouth: the hops are softer more feminine and impart a 'planty' earthiness that's nice but still a little light for my liking. The hops play well with fruity esters.

Very nice. Terrapin is always trying to step their game up & that's awesome.

Pours a pale amber with a large, dense, foamy, off white head that has great retention. The nose is cirtusy and earthy; little to no malt aromas. The flavor is rather subdued; very light, bready malt and very light, citrusy, grassy hops. There are some piny notes as the beer warms. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, well carbonated, and a little crisp at first.

For me this is a pretty underwhelming IPA. It's not bad, but the flavors are light and there's nothing that really grabs my attention. I would definitely go with their Hopsecutioner over this offering.

A- Pours a clear copper color with an off-white head with good retention and lacing.

S- The aroma is fresh leafy hops and some malt. I was expecting more hops in the nose, I was a little underwhelmed by the aroma.

T- The taste has some malt up front with a some fresh hop flavors in the finish. The hops are more flavorful than bitter. You can tell the hops are extremely fresh but I would have like to have seen the hops be a little more assertive in both the taste and aroma.

M- The mouthfeel is somewhere between light and medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- Overall, this is a good solid highly drinkable brew. My only complaint is the hops are not quite as prevalent as I would have wanted. Worth a try.

Had a pint at Liberty St. Tavern and didn't bother finishing the glass. It wasn't very hoppy and there was a strong, vaguely cheesy off flavor. Has this been sitting out too long, maybe with an infection run a muck? There was a little smooth ester character and a touch of grapefruit, but not much. Watch out for this one.

Pours a fairly dark amber color with a moderate white head. Minimal lacing. Run-of-the-mill appearance.

Nose is loaded with hops. Resiny with flowery, spicy notes. The malty backbone is detectable. Taste is fantastic. Loaded with fresh, resiny hops. The malt is mixed in wonderfully and adds a bit of a sweetness to the character - a bit of a spicy, brown sugar sweetness. However, the hops are left here to shine - the malt doesn't get in the way; it merely compliments it.

Mouthfeel is good.

All in all, very impressed with this beer. I enjoyed it much more than I expected, since I've generally been a bit disappointed by the Side Project series. I'd say this is probably the best in the series - I liked it much more than Hopzilla. A fresh hop assault with a nice slightly sweet undertone. Tasty as hell.

A - Poured from a bomber into a satan glass (wide flute). Beautiful amber color, semi-transparent and a thick white head.

S - Wow. It smells like a handfull of green hops. Exactly what I was expecting for a wet hop ale. Citrus and a little malt scent getting in there too.

T - I was expecting more bitterness... but this is still great. Subtly bitter with the malty sweet coming through more. Though not really sweet, just more than bitter.

M - Soft and medium body. Light carbonation. Very nice.

D - Very drinkable. The mouthfeel is wonderful. A great looking beer with a nice smell to it. The taste was the only part not bring it strong, but it was still very nice.
